Agreed. They've obviously been using the night site during the day at 2500watts because they've been crystal clear up here north of Sacramento. For the last couple of days I've been hearing it in Elk Grove loud and clear (obviously on their night time power as they do periodically) but in the middle of the Dixe Cups song it went to dead air and then no signal. I hope this is not the uncerimonious end of their 25 years.
That KORJ has a very unique, one of a kind format, basically real soothing new age, ambient instrumentals. Threshold most likely was making much money, but I give them credit for bringing interesting radio, with music not heard elsewhere,, or with KVIN very few places.Threshold Communications, the owners of KVIN, sold off today their Medford signal. KORJ 97.7 went for $105K. Buyer is Opus Broadcasting, a local Southern Oregon outfit.
Oh yes, I have been really enjoying KVIN . I am hearing a lot of tunes that might not even make it to MeTVFM.
I know they carried ABM in the late 00’s. Probably had been an affiliate for some while.Good news, the 50's-60's Oldies are still playing as of today. I know it's doubtful, but maybe the new owner will keep the format.
I hear them reference "America's Best Music", were they an ABM affiliate at one time?
Well there's still 50K watts KYNO 940 that has a good signal all over the valley including SacramentoGoodbye KVIN. I no longer need an AM radio. Anyone want a GE P-783A?
Let's bring this down to earth. You can listen if if you don't mind lots of static on your car radio in Sacramento. You'd have to be an old radio geek to do that. The .5 mv/m contour makes it to just north of Stockton and the 2 mv/m makes it to about Atwater. So that leaves 5 mv/m from about Chowchilla to about Tipton. And this is with the facility at full power.Well there's still 50K watts KYNO 940 that has a good signal all over the valley including Sacramento
