Don't be so sure that this still won't happen. I have heard the same things from people within Hall.

They simply got a new sweeper voice and are now using the line..."Classic Rock That Really Rocks". They seem to have picked up the tempo. Don't think you'd order new sweepers and change a logo if you are changing formats in a week. My guess is they are staying put. I have competed against Hall in CT before and they don't make quick format changes when revenue is at stake.

Geez, that has counterproductive written all over it! You're actually going to billboard the FREQUENCY of the competition?? Did they miss this class in Radio 101? I mean, I learned the hard way you shouldn't do that, but really! lol

I agree NH - However, knocking the competition in the form of a wry remark or a little gentle chiding from a live personality has potential be good radio if it’s funny… (Since we are all tribal by nature the audience can relate). But to have Johnny Big Voice from Dallas to it an image liner? It’s very uncharacteristic for Hall, though it still falls low on the scale of battle cries..
None the less the gauntlet has be thrown down .The competition between both outlets will be fun to observe and should help make both radio stations better. I know one thing …Corm does not back down from a scrap.

Sounds like "Nobody Beats the Wiz" invested in some new imaging of late that does sound pretty good. That would seem to me that sweet soft sounds of "Fresh 106.7" will have to wait for another day. Looks like the Wizard soldiers on forward for now.

We once did an on going bit a long time ago in which we kept telling the audience that Vic was buying WKDR. We use to play cuts from that Star Trek with an early version of a “sound board”. Lot’s of cart machines… and the theme from Alice. (He played Mel). Yeah… We really beat that one into the ground… even though it amused only us.
But you probably don’t know what the hell I’m talking about.

No, you didn't start it and realize that. I started it to spotlight the fact that you can write anything on this board and people think it's gospel, be completely wrong from the start with no proof other than a third-hand comment, then disappear... In other words, I wanted to make sure I publically questioned the credibility of the poster.
In fact, I was surprised MoonB came back since he only had I think 3 posts at that time... I figured his sole purpose was to start the rumor and laugh as everyone complained about Hall doing something they weren't even going to do in the first place.
And yes, there are tons of people with nothing better to do than to spread rumors here. 95% percent of which have no proof at all. Just like the one you just started. I'll be watching on May 1st.

I don't take things as gospel, but am entertained at the prospects of such and play on it, whether seriously as if it were to occur, or just light-heartedly.

I wonder if Louie knew, when he was doing the Vic Tayback "rumor," that there actually IS a radio connection there - Tayback's brother, under the original spelling of the family name (Tabback, I believe), owns KAZM 780 in Sedona, Arizona. I have a vague recollection that Vic himself may even have a piece of the ownership there. Beautiful part of the country, in any event.
