The Wolf is being put to sleep

I'd really like to see AMP gear up and smoke the competition who've become lazy and uncreative in recent years. Eat em up!

Four isgnals. How about four progam sources. I vote for classic country on 1410. Give people a
reason to listen.

Maybe that's what Arthur was referring to when he said the new format would be an 'easier listening' format. You can't get much easier than dead air with an ID firing at the top of every hour.

Was that an effort to lure listeners away from The Mix or does Artie really think the format is AC?

They should probably try to focus their efforts on hurting 98.7 since WASK.....besides K105....is the top station in the market.

It wont hurt WAZY as much as wedge itself between WASK and WKHY. The station might actually do well in Lafayette, the feel for the format is coming back in small town america

Dont forget about their one of their own. The Rocket and Bob seem to have a huge music crossover. Seems like a dumb move to put Bob on with Rocket still doing classic rock. Any plans in store to change 95.7?

Or try news talk again since the big WIBC signal is going to FM down in Indy. There will be a lot of Lafayette listeners looking for their Rush fix...and with the news resourses of 18 to provide hourly or drive time news updates.....it shouldnt be too much of a problem.

Wow... LOTS of Classic Rock being played on BOB. This is a very strange move. Maybe they'll flip 95-7 to Modern Rock? If not, then enjoy competing against yourself. Other than that, BOB sounds great.

Proof that Bob plays whatever he wants right here. A Petsmart commercial on December 14 for the big Halloween Spooktacular with Dracula. I ask? Where is the accountability, where?

The Wolf died because it stood NO chance of ever competing against a station programmed by the living legend Mark Allen.

;D

A new bigger and better animal to deal with? Listen as long as that station is owned by AMP, the only animal it is going to be qualified to be is a Fighting Gerbil! I'm guessing that the folks at K are just shaking in their boots waiting for AMPS next big screw up. I can hear it now, listen to the ALL NEW GERBIL 93.9 NIBBLING AT THE COMPETITION!

Until AMP sells the stations (Independence Media). It will sure be interesting to see how much more AMP can destroy the Lafayette cluster before the sale.

Soon you guys accross town will feel the BITE right out of your ratings. Laugh all you want!

I believe Bob FM only has a chance if it can build a solid single rating after taking fragments of ratings from the competition:

A little bit of the 80's, 90's and weekend folks from WGLM,
some of the classic rock faithful from WSHP and WKHY,
a hearty handful of the younger end of WASK,
and toss in a smidge of the "Bob FM will be my second choice" people glued to K-105 because they are they only country station now.
Add it all up and you may have SOMETHING. But if Bob FM gets on a "classic rock repetition" jag (and it's been on HOW long and I'm already hearing repeats?), it will last about a year. At the end of the day, you may get an eye-popping shocking 7 or 8 share 12+, or it adds up to the Wolf's old rating (last or second-to-last in the market) and they start brainstorming for something else.

New liner:
"Bob FM. We play anything...from this sheet of 400 songs"
If they play what they actually promised to play, I'll gladly say I'm wrong about all of this.
I just know that when the snide I'm-really-bored-but-clever voice guy says, "I bet you can't guess what Bob plays next", and I actually CAN GUESS already, then it's game over sooner than later.

Another new liner:
"Before there was Bob, there was Jeff....Jeff 92"
Still more variety than any station in town...AND live jocks! God bless Randy and the kids over there!
