"Flo" is a polarizing character - a lot of people find her difficult to watch. It's probably the white uniform and severe make-up. Not surprisingly, she (Stephanie Courtney is her name) looks totally different outside of the Progressive ads. She does some stand-up comedy:

Just saw one with her for Abilify. Apparently you turn into a compulsive Gambler if you take it.
Does anybody ever wonder how all of these dangerous drugs even get by the FDA? And then when the companies get sued they no doubt profess that they told everyone in their commercials of many of the dangers, including brain infections that cause death, etc. etc. etc., associated with their products, and that the literature was also available, but that the people took their own risks, and hey, life's a gamble. Trash commercials and those who make a killing from them.
I love the Angry Mama ad! That takes me back to the days of the Pocket Fisherman,
Veg-O-Matic and Mr. Microphone!
A B&W video recording of "As the World Turns" from Sept. 22, 1972 (even though the original broadcast that day was in color and the show had been aired in color for over five years by that date) contains a very BAD (IMO) Diet Rite commercial with horrible singing during the mid-show commercial break (during the 14:15-14:45 time frame in the linked video):

As bad as that Diet Rite cola ad was I will take it over that anti-soda ad I saw on Crackle last night. In this local ad ( yes local Denver ads do show up on Crackle here in Colorado ) a young man walks into a restaurant and approaches other diners asking them if they are drinking soda. When they said yes he goes on and on about how he has diabetes from consuming products made by the Coca-Cola company. He was also telling them stories from Yahoo.com about all of these soda horror stories including the one about the young girl from New Zealand who "died" from drinking too much Coke. Hmmmmmm I remember that story. One thing he didn't mention in the ad was that the same girl had also a very serious addiction to CIGARETTES and also didn't brush her teeth and pretty much gave up on life too. Talk about death knocking on her door !! Anyway he went on to tell the others in the restaurant as they were dumping their sodas in the trash that water ( of course ) coffee, tea and energy drinks were much more healthy. Since when are energy drinks like Red Bull & Amp are considered to be a healthy alternative to soda ?? My doctor would strongly disagree. At the end of the ad the young man and the other folks would yell "AMERICA..GET OFF THE POP !!". Next time I see this I need to write down the phone number that appears in the ad..probably belongs to Red Bull or Yahoo.
What about other streaming services (Hulu, Amazon etc., not Netflix)?
Don't have Netflix or Amazon. Hulu I don't know but Crackle yes...within the past week I have seen ads from such local Denver area businesses as Freeway Ford, King Soopers Supermarkets and some lawyer firm ( Kyle Bachus ) and my other half saw an ad the other day while watching reruns of Soap for KOA Newsradio with Steffan Tubbs.
I haven't found a copy of their ad on YouTube, their Facebook page, or anywhere else online at this time. However, in recent months during at least the Sunday 5PM WAND-17 (Decatur, IL--NBC) newscasts (and likely during other times), an annoying ad for their local Harley-Davidson dealer, Coziahr H-D (Forsyth, IL--a Decatur suburb) has aired at least 2-3 times during the same HALF-HOUR newscast! With an annoying song with the lyrics, "Coziahr Harley Davidson, Oh Yeah, Oh Yeah, OH YEAH!!!" That ad might be cute after 1-2 showings (and I'm not a Harley person), but wears thin quickly--before a single newscast ends.
And even though the Sunday evening news started 5 minutes late as NBC golf coverage ran a little past 5PM CDT today, the commercial has aired TWICE during the news already. Wouldn't surprise me if we see it one more time before NBC Nightly News. Ugh.
UPDATE: The Coziahr ad aired yet AGAIN, at 5:28PM, shortly after the WAND news concluded! You would think they could cut out the third showing if golf ran over tonight. Like as if no one watching the news missed it already.

A new commercial I've seen is for a product I believe is called Spiral Swab. It's a soft vinyl screw-like thing that you stick in your ear to remove earwax. Not only do doctors tell you NEVER to insert small items into your ear canal, this commercial has TOO MUCH INFORMATION about ear canals and wax! I had to change the channel; it was disgusting!

And then there's the ad for the water-powered nose picker... er, I mean sinus cleaner, seen on the OTA rerun channels. Looks like a large water tank/pump with two nozzles that you shove up your nose, and the... uhhh... "remnants" get collected in the bottom compartment with the "used" water. I'd hate to have to clean out that thing!

I guess this would fit on here but today watching the commercials is it true that one still can't drink alcoholic beverages in TV commercials or even on TV period ?? I did noticed that the restaurant ads nobody is seen actually eating . Can they do that ?? Last night I was watching Movin On and Frank Converse sure seemed to be enjoying his cigars, This reminds me...does anyone smoke on TV anymore ?? I know about "Mad Men" but then again those weren't real cigarettes.

That spot has the worst animation since Clutch Cargo. They did another version where the granny and girl were changed from white to black, and used the same voice track.
