The worst commercials in TV history..

Entering the month of December, I'm still annoyed by the Verizon ad that is mute-worthy. In fact, I've seen it overplay at least every day when sports are on.

Also just now, I had to mute Jardiance. Didn't want to hear it.

That HBO ad from spring 1992 when a guy dumped a woman because she did not have HBO! Now that is a stupid reason to dump a woman. Get HBO at your place why don't you and invite her over?!

The Oak Street Health ad with that supposedly famous old man continues to annoy. It runs incessantly on all of the channels that are carried on the TV station that I work for and I find myself sitting in my engineering office with the sound down. I want to watch stuff and monitor our air signal but I just can't stand to hear that commerical.
For channels that I don't work for, the commerical from Verizon with the off-key unappealing Christmas carolers showing up at a couples house to remind the wife that the husband wants an iPhone 15 Pro is the trigger commercial for me.
1- You are an adult. Buy your own phone
2- The carolers are awful. Especially the woman who is leading the group. She's pretty set now that she has a national commerical but if I was casting a commercial she would be an automatic no.

They're not supposed to sound like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. They're playing typical neighborhood carolers, more enthusiastic than talented. They are actors, acting. Ethnic/racial diversity was likely a factor in the final casting, as that's become a factor in just about all TV advertising.

Worst ads of 2023:
Claritin - For that annoying singer and torturing me daily. Muted this one a lot. It's probably returning in 2024.
Jardiance - For the annoying song and dancing that got irritating.
Burger King - WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER. It's likely continuing into 2024-2025.
Rybelsus - That annoying A1C, down with Rybelsus.
Verizon (Christmas) - Their ad annoyed me daily during November-December. It's instant-mute worthy.
HEB (Victory Lap) - Bad rapping, and it earned a mute every time it aired. This is local to Texas.
Damprid (Everybody Damprid) - Yeeeeeah no.
Pfizer (Travis Kelce) - TWO THINGS AT ONCE!! Muted this one too, it overplayed way too much.
T-Mobile - The goofy guys kept annoying me during my vacation in July, and they continued into the fall.
Cologuard - Botching a song, and it overplayed too much.
Hulu (Jalen Hurts) - I got sick of the ad annoying me during the first half of NFL Season. I don't want Hulu.
Every Liberty Mutual ad that involves that jingle.
Every KFC ad this year too, they were irritating, involved annoying dancing and CHICKEN NUGGETS.
Geico - All of them especially the "It's Easy to Geico" campaign.
Progressive - All of them that featured Flo and Jamie.
State Farm - Any ads that contain the Kansas City Chiefs. Their ads are not funny either.

"Overplaying" is how advertising becomes familiar. People who deliberately avoid buying products advertised too often or with irritating characters or music are outliers. It makes no sense for either advertisers or TV/radio to cater to them. All of them would be leaving money on the table by doing so.

The Wrigley's Spearmint as from 1995 with that guy Charlie wedged in between two people on a plane and that stick of Wrigley's Spearmint gum was in his pant leg and the tray table was in his way I mean if I was him I would put the tray table up reach down and get it.

Burger King is still airing in 2024, why am I not surprised?

Also Liberty Mutual has a new ad with an AI sounding baby and the usual jingle but with the baby at the final part.

When is Claritin gonna come back to haunt us?
