The CBS/CW/Indy stations they own I guess were mandated not to have any subchannels, and have the full channel bandwidth dedicated to 1080i. KTLA could be a possibility also, but it would be sharing bandwidth most likely with Antenna TV (which actually would be a good fit also).
KDOC had a video music subchannel programmed out of Phoenix whose name escapes me. It was a very low budget affair which fits the cheapo style of KDOC. It disappeared well before analog sunset. Nowadays KDOC has most of it's bandwidth tied up in subscriber service Sezmi. So much so, that KDOC couldn't offer a watchable HD signal even if they wanted to. Their PQ is pretty awful in just SD format. That seems to be par of the course out in KDOC-land.
KCOP could conceivably add Cool and/or even ME-Tv. That would be a good move for them. I don't know the rules regarding stations deemed non-commercial but could perhaps soon to be independent KCET pick up commercial subchannels as long as the main signal remains non-comm? KCET will have plenty of room once all the PBS subs are given the heave-ho on Jan 1.
