Last night KMSP FOX 9 Minneapolis delayed the new episode of "Almost Family" to 10:37 because they had a special of the issues farmers are going through here in Minnesota called "The Last Harvest" at 8:00
Almost Family pre-empted Modern Family and TMZ (TMZ is shown 2 other times after it...2:30 on FOX9+ WFTC and at 4am on KMSP)

They're an O&O and they delay a new episode? (Although Almost Family isn't doing too well in the ratings and might not last the whole season.)

What is it with everybody giving me attitude? I get that last time, the other pre-emptions thread was not for sports, etc., but this one is, so I am not breaking any rules. I feel like at this point, y'all are just watching this thread like a hawk so you can all make fun of me for pointing out WOF being pre-empted in other cities and how "it doesn't matter" (which is true, game shows are not as important as other programming most of the time), yet saying that Jeopardy! and other shows "deserve" to not be pre-empted. If I was pointing out every Jeopardy! pre-emption (instead of only the ones that affect Wheel with it), nobody would be saying anything. Double standard much?

yup. Not the first time KMSP has done that for a local special. Although usually they shift it over to sister station WFTC (FOX9+ formerly My29). They already delay MyNetwork programming to 10-midnight.

That seems a bizarre topic for a special. Was it somehow about the San Diego Zoo, or was it an out-of-town produced special?
 
WABC just announced they will be airing the Eagles/Giants MNF game on 12/9 at 8:00. Hopefully that's not preceded by any pregame.

Presumably, WPVI will be carrying it as well, and they often air pregame shows at 7:30 if the Eagles are involved.

Both stations' listings don't have the game added yet and still have the usual evening lineup. 8:00 is a new ep of The Great Christmas Light Fight, and The Good Doctor at 10:00 is a rerun since they're on break through mid-January.
 
KIRO (CBS) Seattle will simulcast the Monday night Seahawks-Vikings game so:
--CBS evening news will pre-empt the 3:30 showing of "Judge Judy"
--Local news and pregame will pre-empt the 4:00 hour of "Judge Judy"
--"Entertainment Tonight" will not be seen at all
The real bizarre one is CBS's Monday night airing of "Rudolph" will be delayed--to 1:37am! What kids are still up by then?

same here in Minneapolis on WCCO since they are showing the game. 1:37am showing

Fret not...they'll replay it before Christmas just like Frosty (which is on tonight BTW)
 
East Tennessee PBS (WETP and WKOP) has started their pledge drive again. As a result, programming on Create (2.3 and 15.3) has been replaced by the useless pledge programming for several weeks.

What is "useless pledge programming"? I thought PBS stations either unveil new specials or rerun popular viewer favorites during the drives. That's true for the main signal, at least. What is Create doing?
 
I have a feeling that on Monday Adam 12 on COZI TV - WVIT 30.2 in Hartford is going to be pre-empted once again for Days of our Lives. WVIT 30.1 most likely is going to be airing non-stop coverage of the Winter Storm, complete with some idiot reporter standing on the side of I-84 telling people it's slippery and another idiot reporter driving around the state in "Snow Monster."

I remember back in the 90's and early 00's, the pledge drives would air during the PBS Kids block (at least on WNET), and they would play edited-for-time versions of the usual kids shows. I vividly remember seeing an episode of ZOOM that cut out one or two segments compared to the other times it reran, and the famous "Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card!" episode of Arthur cut the "A Word From Us Kids" segment that traditionally airs in the middle of every episode, plus one of the several musical numbers from that episode.

In addition to this...

WKBN in Youngstown, OH (CBS) replaced WOF with a local special on Small Business Saturday (even though it was Friday; I guess College Football didn't give much room for it on Saturday), and bumped WOF to 3:32 AM in place of local program "Game Time with Boomer Esiason".

Because of College Football taking up most of the day on ABC stations, some of them opted to make up a local newscast at 7:00 Eastern (or whenever the game would finish). WPBF West Palm Beach did this, bumping WOF to 1:07 AM (replacing Access Hollywood, though the latter was still listed), and O&O WTVD Raleigh did the same, but bumping Jeopardy! instead, which may have been moved to 11.2 LWN (though it wasn't listed and the station did not give any heads up on their social media like they usually do when J! or WOF are bumped there). Fortunately, unlike the past two years, ABC's Black Friday game ended right on time and 7:00 programming aired uninterrupted.
 
SEC on CBS overran to about 7:47 PM Eastern.

Every Saturday, since SEC never ended at its "scheduled" end time of 7:00 thanks to lengthy games plus postgame shows, WCBS New York and WFSB Hartford would JIP Entertainment Tonight Weekend (an hour long compared to the weekday version's half hour). This time, they both did something different. At 7:50, ET started from the beginning, but then after the first commercial break, the final segment aired (with "ET Birthdays", "Coming up on ET Monday", and the credits). I wonder why they did that; the intro mentioned several segments that didn't end up airing. Do they have a "10-minute edit" that they swap in in cases like this?

To me it would make more sense to extend the post game show to the top of the hour and allow local stations to have a short news break if they want, but I don't see any point in joining a show that is more than half over in progress.

I agree. I just found it odd that they showed the beginning and end since they mentioned things like "Coming up, we've got the latest on the Friends reunion!" which they didn't show. It wouldn't have made any difference just joining it in progress for the last two segments. And as I said about ET a while back, they upload pretty much all of their stories on their YouTube anyway.

I flipped through several CBS's at 7:55 out of curiousity. KTVT Dallas (O&O) and WDJT Milwaukee both joined the Wheel rerun in progress which was enough for the Bonus Round and probably the Final Spin as well (since that usually happens around 7:49-50). KHOU Houston had some long medical commercial, so they may have just filled the time with Paid Programming. WBZ Boston had the end of Jeopardy! as normally scheduled, and I imagine others did too, although most of them were on commercials when I tuned in.

CBS was the only network to overrun football last night. ABC's game ended ahead of schedule and, after more postgame than usual to fill time, signed off on time at 11:00 Eastern for only the second time in the season. FOX actually signed off early. WNYW began their news at 11:16 instead of the expected 11:30 or later.

Yesterday was also the last College Football Saturday for ABC (for now), at least for the late afternoon/evening. Weekend syndie scheduling should go back to normal. My Xfinity listings show J! and WOF back at the 7:00 PM hour on Saturdays on WABC, although they return to 4:30-5:30 AM Sunday for 12/22.
