They preempted that for this?

Turns out NBC aired coverage from 7-11 Wednesday night. The 7:00 hour was optional.

Because of this, the 2-hour season finale of American Ninja Warrior was moved to Friday.

actually it wasnt moved. Friday was to have been the rerun of Wednesday's episode (NBC has done that for the last few weeks)

So here we go again. The broadcast networks pre-empted their 10PM programming for live news programming, setting up an address of some sort by Joe Biden.

That meant CBS pre-empted Blue Bloods, NBC pre-empted Dateline (which is produced by the news department,) and ABC cut into 20/20 (which is also produced by the news department.)

I doubt CBS cares are they are still in reruns until Sunday.

Side note: is CBS using the MTV studio space?

Was that always the Viacom office?

Depends on what you mean by "always." I believe the building was originally owned by Paramount Pictures. The old Paramount Theater is part of the building. It was merged into Viacom & CBS back in the 90s. For some time, the lobby of the theater was turned into a WWE retail outlet. There was also an MTV store along that strip.

I guess when MTV moved in was Viacom there also?

They just showed a wide shot of the studio looking out on Times Square, so yes they are still in the former TRL studio on the second floor of the ViacomCBS building, at 1 Astor Plaza, also known as 1515 Broadway.

I'm starting to wonder if Biden will get this address in before 11PM. Or if he intends to be live when local stations begin their 11PM news.

With MTV not doing live programming what are they using that studio for? Does it just sit empty.

I think he is hoping someone calls him the winner before he starts.

ABC moved Shark Tank to the 10 pm slot in the east, making way for 20/20 at 8 this week (election coverage instead of the wretched crime of the week the regular series has become).
