They preempted that for this?

So I noticed that tomorrow night WCNC is randomly blowing out the entire NBC primetime lineup.

They are preempting The Voice and Dateline which I assume are reruns for a Franklin Graham Easter message, a Flashpoint special, two episodes of Daytime Jeopardy which they haven’t aired in like 15 years or so and the movie Bernie. This is so unlike WCNC.

Oh and NBC is airing an eclipse special on April 8 from 2-4 which for WCNC will preempt Daily Blast Live and Judge Judy, I was checking for that when I saw the Sunday night surprise.
They are reruns. I get Charlotte putting the Franklin Graham Easter message airing in primetime there being it's around the HQ of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association as well the the other programming to fill the preempted Voice slot, but surprised they decided to preempt NBC altogether by airing a movie at 9. Here in Phoenix, sister TEGNA NBC station KPNX will be showing Franklin Graham's message, but at 3:30 in the afternoon (barring the Houston Open going to a long playoff, although they'll probably push it back to after the golf & show it in full if it comes to that).

Just randomly changed it to KDSM Fox 17 in Des Moines IA at 4:30pm and it says Family Fued which normally airs at this time but their showing Two and a Half Men instead.

I always assumed most ABC affiliates ran Jeopardy/Wheel.
WOF and J air on WBZ in Boston (a CBS O&O), and on WPRI in Providence (also a CBS affiliate).

A couple weeks ago during NCAA March Madness, the game shows aired on WSBK (Boston) and WPRI-DT2 (Providence).

Tonight, WCVB is airing a special called "History, Heroes, and Heart: the 128th Boston Marathon" at 8 PM. 9-1-1 gets bumped to 1:06 AM Friday morning.

Most pay-TV providers in the Boston DMA also carry WMUR market-wide, so viewers who want to watch 9-1-1 "live as it airs" have that option. But Comcast/Xfinity only carries WCVB in Boston proper. Even north and west of the city it's hit-or-miss if you get WMUR on Comcast, depending on the city/town you live in. Some towns further away from the NH state line get WMUR on Xfinity while others closer to the Granite state don't! I don't understand why.

The reason Two and a Half Men aired at 4:30pm was because they aired The Hawkeyes Girls Basketball Homecoming at 6pm but they only aired half of it because they simulcast it from KGAN (CBS 2/Fox 28) in Cedar Rapids Waterloo market. The last half hour from 6:30pm-7pm you had to watch online if you wanted to watch it.

It's on YouTube on the Iowa News Now YouTube page in it's entirety and on their website for people that wanted to watch as they said they only cleared a half hour of the homecoming.

WBZ's sister channel WSBK will be airing Wheel at its regular time tomorrow night replacing the first half-hour episode of TBBT. The main reason for this is that the main WBZ channel is airing a half hour edition of Patriots All Access which is something most people would not stand watching.

KSAT (ABC San Antonio) will be bumping Game 4 of the Nuggets/Lakers NBA 1st round series to their 12.2 MeTV subchannel as they'll be having coverage of the Fiesta Flambeau Parade.

All of ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW Programming pre-empted in Des Moines, Iowa due to weather.

Tornado outbreaks that started in Nebraska and came through Iowa and pre-empted all Primetime Programming and still covering as of 10pm on ABC 5, CBS 8, NBC 13, and The CW 23.

Let's hope with the Draft available elsewhere on ESPN2 & NFL Network, there weren't much in the way of randos on social media like we see in these kinda situations sometimes complaining about life-saving info interrupting the NFL Draft on ABC in Des Moines & likely elsewhere in Iowa & Nebraska.

Update : CBS went back to regular programming at 10:35pm, The CW went back to regular programming at 10:30pm. NBC went back to regular programming at 10:42pm joining the Tonight Show already in progress and ABC 5 is continuing the News at 10:30 due to ABC airing the NFL Draft.

At the beginning of the newscast at 10:30pm on ABC 5 they said sorry you missed the NFL Draft we hate breaking into regular programming.

And speaking of the Draft, whatever airs between 7 and 8 Eastern would have been pre-empted. I guess it's live everywhere so someone will have to tell us what happens to that programming out west.

I don't know if they changed their policy but I did see what I would call excessive coverage of weather on WBTV at one point. WBTV made a promise they wouldn't spend a lot of time on weather unless things were really serious. After all, people might ignore excessive coverage if it wasn't justified, and then when things got bad they wouldn't know the difference.

For many here in the West, the programming I'm sure was shown during what would normally be primetime. Here in Phoenix, no big deal as KNXV has news scheduled btn 6-7 leading into primetime, they, at least on Thursday, extended their 10pm newscast to right after the Draft concluded.

For those who have heard that the Arizona Coyotes were relocating to Utah, KASW channel 61 will no longer be airing Coyotes games. When Coyotes games aired on KASW, Family Guy had to air at 11pm and Bob's Burgers at 12am. On nights when Coyotes games didn't air, Family Guy aired at 10:30, Bob's Burgers aired at 11:30 and The Simpsons aired at 12:30.

To the Wheel watchers living in the Boston area, Tomorrow night's episode of WoF will air at its regular time on WSBK replacing the first half-hour episode of The Big Bang Theory since the main WBZ channel is airing Patriots All Access but in a half-hour format. Jeopardy will air at its regular time on the main WBZ channel.

In Des Moines Iowa, ABC 5, CBS 8, NBC 13, and CW 23 pre-empted it's late night programming (CW 23 was all syndicated programming, while 5, 8, and 13 was Network from the half of the 9pm hour and 10:35-pm-12:35am then the rest was syndicated besides 13 from 1:10am-2am.

They pre-empted for bad weather for Strong Thunderstorms and Tornados once again which was another slow moving storm coming from Nebraska that started around 6:30-7pm in western Iowa but didn't reach the viewing area around 9:30pn and Central Iowa (the Des Moines area) around 1am.
