This fall on the Local Stations

Clearing Willie in Cincinnati is a no-brainer. He's basically a talk god down there, as he's anchored the midday slot on WLW for close to 15 years (and 25 years altogether). And remember, Tribune developed that show last June when Willie's former WLW co-horts, Randy Michaels and Sean Compton, were running Tribune and WGN Radio/TV - allegedly, Randy tried unsuccessfully to lure Willie over to WGN at the same time. Who knows who that all affected the Tribune/Local TV group syndication deal.

Technically, Access Hollywood could also be considered persona non gratia in Cleveland. First WJW axed the hour-long "Access Hollywood Live" talk show at 11am, and now stuck the daily show at 2am only. For years, WOIO or WUAB have done the same thing with "Extra," sticking it either after Craig Ferguson or during the 2am or 3am hour...

As per WJW weekdays, I'd rather they put a mixed lineup of light talk shows and sitcom reruns to go with Judge Judy. She's been an anchor for them at the 4pm hour. But nothing but court shows during the midday? Sorry but that's too much.

I think "Access" is just playing out the string at WJW.

It could be the kind of show WEWS brings in to fill the 7 p.m. slot once "Wheel" and "Jeopardy" scoot over to WOIO next year.
