If you actually listen to Thom, he actually reminds you of Steve Whats-his-name, who last got sacked.
Lots of fill in with extra-phony sounding incredulity built-in and no real life baseball experience. If you ask me, he's just TOO professional sounding. What I want is a baseball person, not a professional announcer.
I didn't hear much of an uproar when he left AZ and now I know why. Kinda like the Griffey deal.
Trust me, the fans don't give a damn about having a father hand off the announcing baton to his son. It shouldn't happen.
I guess you don't like Marty.brian65 said:... no real life baseball experience. If you ask me, he's just TOO professional sounding. What I want is a baseball person, not a professional announcer.

Has anyone noticed his borrowing of Mel Allen's famous "how about that"?????
Actually, I had a Reds game on in the background, and did a double-take when I heard it. Cowboy's drawl is similar to Allen's.

Dan Hoard is so vanilla he makes pistachio sound exciting.
But if one has a DVR, then you know how to use this to your advantage.brian65 said:Anyone who claims to listen to the Reds radio broadcast while watching it on TV is an outright liar.
The delay offset is about 3-4 seconds and it would drive anyone insane to actually watch it that way.
