Thoughts on Mix 104.1

I'm sorry but 104.1's processing sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me, and it bugs me how some songs are pitched and some aren't. Someone needs to fix this, it just makes the station sound small market and like they don't have their act together. We're in a Top 10 market. Come on CBS. Do they think compressing the audio to death sounds good? Because I'm the first to say it doesn't.

These problems were fixed a few weeks ago along with the stereo/mono issues of certain songs, I think.

Anyone know which jingle package Mix uses now? They were using the 2003 KDWB Package from N2Effect before when they were still at 98.5.

Now didn't Washington DC's WAVA when they were CHR use the same package also?

WAVA hasn't been CHR since the early 90s. He was talking about the package Mix was using at the end on 98.5.

You're probably thinking of the first jingle package Mix used when they signed on in 91. At least the first jingle used right when they changed from WROR was JAM's "Hot KIIS," which WAVA (and WZOU here) had used in the 80s. That's the only aircheck I've heard from the very early days of Mix, so i'm not sure if they had the whole package or how long they used it.

Mix used something back in the early 90's when they were R&B flavored Hot AC. An aircheck of the final hour has WAVA using the same package.

These? http://jingles.com/audio/d_HotKIIS.mp3

Yes, that is what WBMX used for the most part. I do not recall WZOU using the package although they used something somewhat similar at the top of the hour, but still different though.

Ok, just listened the whole thing, and there is one that 'ZOU used in during the 80's. A lot of it sounds like what Pro-FM used to use also.

I don't think PRO used Hot KIIS, but they had plenty of other JAM material back then. Here's an aircheck that includes some of the KIIS stuff on WZOU, from 1985.

Thanks jlehmann, I am now reminded why I didn't listen to WZOU back then, way over the top! That was until 1989 or so when they won me over. I even noticed an aircheck of Artie The One Man Party from back in '92 as well.
