Thoughts so far on The Party??

ROB!!!! How are you dude? Where are you? Does anybody know if Scotty is back at The Party? His name is on the website and I emailed it but got no response. I am not in Nashville so I don't know if this is common knowledge. Thanks all. BB

This despite the fact that Cookeville has another CHR in 106.9 Kicks FM. WKXD Kicks FM is actually very good on jumping on hot new records early while Magic is more Recurrent and Adult friendly (though Magic's consistently amongst Cookeville's top rated stations).

Kicks greatest challenge was signal. Because of it's position on the Monterey mountain, and Cookeville being in a bowl, the station could not penetrate concrete and steel buildings. Fall 2007 Arbitron showed Kicks tied in 2nd (Women 18-34) with Magic. I have no data for 2008 (after we added Kidd Kraddick). The GM canceled Arbitron. There's no doubt in my mind that if upper management of WKXD would have given the station things it needed like Outside Marketing, and Promotions it's 12+ numbers would have been stronger. Women 18-34 just finally starting to turn around. It takes a lot of time to change peoples opinions when you rely on word of mouth. Magic beat us 20 to 1 in promotions and marketing.

concerning the cookeville market,..my family is originaly from that area, putman and jackson county..and i still have a few cousins/aunts living there..as well as driving there every day for last 10 years..has the mindset of the town changed very much in the last thirty years ? it used to be a rural farming town, where my uncles farmed and wouldn't listen to any thing other than WHUB..i know it's been a college town for years..just wondering about the demo makeup and what formats get the bigger numbers ..i see kids cranking the usual hippity hop at the barbor shop..but adults don't look much different than forty years ago. seems to be a lot of stations there for a town that size..

AcesandJaks- I'm in Nashville keeping my options open on the next great "part-time" gig! ;) As for Scotty O'Brien. He's on-air at "The Party"! He sounds great! As for emailing Scotty, perhaps his plate is full with the new gig and all. Give him some time. ....Have a great week!
