Thunder??

Hey I just read the new ratings for ENC.
Can someone tell me how Thunder's ratings compare to Hot when it was on 963/103.7?
Seems at it's worst I remember Hot being higher.

The Hot FM had not been at a 4.0 in a long time. Fall 06 and Winter 07 ratings still show and those are what Hot had. 2.2 in 12+. It was in April or May that Hot went to 94 and country went to 96.3/103.7.

I remember a mere 5-6 years ago Hot and Bob added up together to be well over a 10, and they were both CHR. Sadly, that speaks volumes about the breakdown of demographics still listening to radio.

Also says alot about the lack of quality in most top 40 music today.Even the kids aren't listening like they used to...

It is not the lack of quality, it is the lack of entertainment. The 12-24 year olds are finding their music in all types of places. The record industry no longer looks solely upon radio to break hits. Check out My Space, You Tube, or network televison. CHR will survive, if the stations remain local, and offer more then just music. They must become the social forums of the airwaves. Kids would rather hear an hour on fashion tips or "TMZ" gossip, in addition to the latest hit by Kelly Clarkson. It is time for the people on these boards to understand what radio needs to become in 2008. It is so boring to read about PD's who ruined your lives. Make these blogs informative and be innovative. You might find yourselves back in a business that needs trailblazers.

No PD has ruined anything for me so I'm not sure where you are coming from there.I agree kids have other sources now for music.A CHR with the kind of signal BOB has should be in at least the top 5.CHR is hurting to a degree because even 12-24 year olds are turning to other formats because the quality
of the music is just not that good. Also a lot of white kids 12+ are listening to an urban formats.CHR has a major identity crisis right now.Rap in my opinion has hurt CHR because if you like rap you are listening to Urban which hurts CHR.CHR has lost a lot of white kids therefore the numbers are down.Just my opinion.I still think the lack of overall music quality is a big issue and kids are
doing so many other things that occupy their time.We certainly live in a different world than we did even 15 years ago and radio suffers to a degree because of that...
