TIGER WOODS

Why is this man being crucified by the media? I'm not condoning his infidelities, but he did not kill anyone, did not molest a child, did not rape anyone, and for that matter, did not commit a crime. Tiger had consensual relations with an adult, (apparently several of them.) I nearly drove off the road the other day on my way to work when a certain morning man in this market blasted Woods, saying his "press conference" on Friday would be nothing more than a scam, a farce. What made me sick, is that the morning personality in question has been married several times and has himself, committed adultery. Yet there he was, casting stones, even going so far as to say that Tiger doesn't need to be playing golf this year. What bunk. For the record, I'm no angel. I've also been married more than once and I too, have committed adultery. But I refuse to jump on the 'anti-Tiger bandwagon.' He's made mistakes and he's admitted it. He has apologized and now wants to move forward. Tiger's not the first athlete to cheat on his spouse and he won't be the last. There again, I'm not saying it's okay. But I refuse to try him, convict him and lynch him in the public square.

I think I know what "morning personality" you refer to. That's not the first case of the 'pot-calling-the-kettle-black' I've heard from that person. As they say, those who live in glass houses shouldn't get stoned. ;D

I do the same with Tiger Woods as I do with Sarah Palin...hoping that if I ignore them, they'll just go away.

Then again, this is what you get when radio talk show hosts tune in to "TMZ" to get subject material. It's just a slow "news"day (or week, or month.) But be patient, we'll have a brand new scandal before you know it!!

Amen, Jason!!! Tiger doesn't owe me an apology - it's none of my business. I can't wait for him to just stop apologizing to the cameras - and go play some golf! (I do wish he had been harsher with the media though.)

You are right! He owes the media nothing! It's not like the media helped his squeeky-clean image. And it's not like he has a gazillion dollars worth of endorsements that depend on that image. And if cheating on his wife a bunch of times might ruin that image. He is a professional athlete. He has earned a pass. Now if the media can just do it's job and help him we can put this whole mess behind us. No wonder we wives hate him.

Nobody is squeaky clean. An affair with one woman would have been bad but the fact that the # (that we know of) is in double digits, makes Tiger a pretty "sick" individual.

To his credit, he's in treatment for his addiction. I pray it helps him get through this.

Tiger owes me no apology. But he needs to be held accountable for his actions. If that means losing future wealth so be it.
I felt his statement was very rehearsed.

Everyone is tempted. But many men, in fact, the majority of men, don't succumb.

Elin has a very difficult decision ahead of her. How does one of the most beautiful women in the world accept the fact that she wasn't enough to take care of his needs?

There is no such thing as sex addiction. Sex addiction is a load of politically correct invented crap. The only thing that you can
say negative about Tiger Woods was that he was in a relationship when he looked elsewhere. It happens every day. He just happens to be in the public eye. If Tiger Woods was single and did what he did, nobody would be calling it sex addiction. On the issue of broadcasters using this story to get easy attention.....The standards of quality radio hosts have never been lower and this is not about the morality of the story but, about a radio host getting cheap, easy attention. If Tiger Woods ends up getting a divorce, he might want to be involved with 1000 women and nobody will call it sex addiction. This story is a non story.
Just judge Tiger Woods on his ability to play golf. What he does in his spare and private time is his business. Also, don't feel sorry for Tiger Wood's wife. She will get plenty of bucks in the divorce settlement.

A few other related things.....Tiger Woods press conference was a bunch of contrived crap. His business advisers told him to do this to resurrect his image so he would again be a viable alternative for advertisers. It is highly unlikely that he is contrite at all.
All of this is no big deal. It's not like we're talking about O. J. Simpson and in O. J.'s case, what he did as a football player is totally separate from what he did in 1994. This is also the case with Pete Rose. I expect that Tiger Woods will be just as sexually active if he gets a divorce as he was leading up to the car accident. My best advise to him is to have plenty of birth control options. There is one other thing that runs through my mind about Tiger Woods. Wouldn't one think that somebody as
famous and affluent as Tiger Woods could do better than hitting on female bartenders and porn actresses?

Yes...Who was he?

is he a (M)edical (D)octor?

Really about this crap: If Woods was single, he'd be considered a "playa Playa". But if he's married now he is a "sex Addict"!

What hippocracy!

The identity of the morning personality in question matters not. However, I was not referring to Mark Davis. The anti-Tiger talk I heard occurred in morning drive--very early. Mark does, what? 9-Noon? Besides, I seldom listen to 'BAP.

Ah, must be Terry Dorsey, don't see you as a Kidd fan.

Nah, I think Terry Dorsey's been married to the same woman for forever. I could be wrong, but what Jason described seems out of character for him. My guess was Jody Dean.

And I'm not letting the cat outta the bag: Jody's been totally honest about his many transgressions. Think he's found the Lord now, but in my experience, those folks seem to be the first to cast stones.

No, it's not Terry. I've known him for nearly 30 years since he first came to town in 1981 at KPLX. He's a class act and I've never heard him say an unkind word about anyone--on or off the air.

Personally, I feel he should never be allowed to set foot on a golf course ever again.

Under your way of thinking, anyone who has ever committed adultery should not be allowed to return to his/her chosen line of work. That would about one-third of all adults in the country. (And probably 75% of people in radio!!!!)

I want to emphasize, that what Tiger Woods did was wrong. But I've made the same mistakes. And by God, you have no right to tell me that I can't work in radio just because I screwed around back in my wild and crazy days. To say that Tiger should never be allowed to set foot on a golf course ever again is simply asinine.

To paraphrase the Dalai Lama:

"Tiger who?"

I play golf, I'm 60 y.o, working class, play golf and have a few observations:
1. T.W. makes about 10M playing golf and 90M (est) through endorsements. One can argue that T.W. receives a large % of the 90M through his performance as the best golfer of all time but T.W. has received a lot of endorsement $$$ because of his overall image, an image. Therefore he owed a mild apology to his public, nothing more. He's done that. No mas.
2. A number of people have really bad mouthed the women that T.W. was with calling them sluts, hoes etc. But those same people don't attack T.W. personally. His collective behavior is more outrageous than those of the individual women he was with. Because of the # and not the behavior. BUT if I had the power and $$ of T.W. maybe I would feel entitled myself. And many of us would as well.
3. I hope people can show restraint on the golf course when T.W. returns and go to watch the golf and nothing else. No mumbles, no jokes, no very scantily clad women in the gallery looking for photo ops etc. But I hope his caddy does the same.
4. Winning golf tournaments alone will not fully repair his image but tearing up the prenup and donating 100M to charity would go a very long way.. And having said that I'm not sure I would do those things myself if I were in that situation.
