Tim Brando Radio Show

All Brando talks about it college sports. And his show is hardly entertaining. He needs to adjust to a more national audience in order for it to work if he goes on the CBS net work.

It is my impression that national networks talk college sports a lot because the stations that carry most of the network tend to be in smaller markets that are more likely to want to hear college sports talk. The Southeast is a good example. A lot of small markets that are relatively more focused on college sports than the coasts.

This thought just came to mind, what about Premiere/Fox? The seem to have an upcoming opening. Does he still do basketball games on FSN?

Thank you for being the voice of this situation. Excellent insight. Maybe Patrick is leaving Premiere and going to NBC. Then Brando will go to Premiere in that time slot.

While I had thought CBS was only natural, I completely forgot about the other half of their deal, Cumulus, which Brando has publicly bashed in the past. He was a vocal critic of theirs when Cumulus banned him from appearing on the syndicated Finebaum show because his YSR show ran on a competing station in Finbaum's flagship market of Birmingham.

Interestingly, Finebaum's contract with Cumulus expired yesterday, and he is jumping to Cox's crosstown station: http://outkickthecoverage.com/paul-finebaum-leaves-birminghams-wjox.php His show is going on a three-month hiatus to coincide with his Birmingham non-compete.

If it isn't Premiere, the other strong possibility is moving to the Sirius/XM college sports station.

Another day...and still no announcement. At this rate, the new "radio distribution" platform will be announced when it happens on February 4th. You'd think they would like to give affiliates/potential affiliates as much time as a possible to get ready for the change.

Announcement tomorrow and nothing has leaked yet?

It sure looks like Sirius XM. Take a look at Druda's Twitter caption

XXXXXX / XX Radio

Surprised that they're not going to be on terrestrial anymore. But, I guess it is still possible to be on terrestrial and satellite. We'll have to see.
