Tim Dukes New Gig

I always thought its situations and not talent that most often define people in radio. Dukes picked the wrong place, or, did it pick him, but I've always known him as a smart radio type.
Side note: nice to see Miss Anthrope back

If he's so "smart" why did he place himself at the mercy of that moron Marc Chase???

Stupid point.

Because it's easy to see Marc Chase is a moron in hindsight, but difficult to see it from San Diego in the year 2001. Besides, Dukes had worked for Chase with much success in Tampa.

I apologize if I happen to be speaking to the person who first discovered that Marc Chase is an ailment. There are many on this board, and it's hard to keep them straight.

Bubba Chase was well past his one accidental semi-success story in Tampa by 2001 where things had already started to unravel. You make it sound like Atlanta is the only market he's taken down the tubes.

So...if you're in San Diego and you get an opportunity to be the PD of WKLS and the OM for the entire CC cluster (allowing you to move closer to home and make a lot more money) you're going to say, "Nah, I don't want to work for Marc Chase."

By the way, when Dukes came to Atlanta Gene Romano was running the market.

Tim Dukes has always been and will always be a fine upstanding human being and radio professional. I respect his choice to stand down as many have.

Another idiot, who's still with the company, naturally.

You guys are probably right, the real culprit is John Hogan. I just don't see how these underlings escape resposnibility when they assume titles like Regional Vice President, Operations Manager etc.

Hogan is George W. and these clowns are his Rumsfelds.

Romano did some good things here. He rehired Rude and brought The Regular Guys to Atlanta. 96 Rock was back on the upswing when Romano was here. Tom Connelly was still GM.

"Why can't I ever get a hold of my broker, Mr. Dukes?"
"He's voicetracked, sir" ;D
