Time for Eagle 106 to relaunch

My idea is to have xmas music starting on monday at 5pm then after xmas flip to back to Eagle with O and A mornings and then matt and huggy middays and lovephones at 1am. I listened to it on 94.1 and enjoyed it but wanted it live not on delay.

Yeah right - Clear Channel will really hit that female demo with a rehash of yet another old rock/talk station. And, Philly is really lacking in those, isn't it?

I'm sure that the management at CC is jotting it down as I write this! ;D

Me thinks the original poster's "idea" also contains the thought of having O&A as well as Matt & Huggy "broker" their shifts and another time broker from "Pheeeeel-ad--elf--ia" buy time for Lovelines, since, "the lines are jammed with beautiful people, honey!" I believe the poster would also broker an hour talk show himself, as long as it was under $80 an hour...

I love it.xmas music starting on Monday at 5pm then after xmas flip to back to Eagle with O and A mornings and then matt and huggy middays and lovephones at 1am. now that would be a #1 station!!!!!

Was this a serious suggestion?

If it was, how would it remotely resemble the original Eagle 106 in order to qualify as being "relaunched?"

Even without that issue, it's a sure loser of a station all around.

Disco with RJ. "Stick and stay ... OK? OK!"

I agree. Time to revive "Electric 106"! ;D

You know, if CC were on a goofy nostalgia kick, Electric 106 would have been a better name than My 106 for this format. Granted, it’s not nearly as much fun as the same 15 songs in the same order hour after hour, but bringing back the “Electric 106 Weather Mix” alone would have been a riot. :)

Gee, almost 15 years since the end of Eagle and suddenly out of nowhere this topic comes up. I can't imagine why or where this idea (bastardized as it is here) came from?

Re-read this thread and realize how ridiculous much of it is. It's a shame. There are some great threads here on Radio-Info. This is one of the ones that explains why radio professionals rarely admit to reading any message board.

Do you guys hear what you're saying? Why stop here? Let's bring back Beautiful Music WWSH and put Scotty & Alex with their strippers on at night.

Makes sense to me.

Hold up there Mr. Brusstar you don't even have a paid gig in the radio biz you own and operate your own internet show. When you have a show with more then 50 listeners that is being very nice, more like 25 listeners then you can call my ideas stupid till then good luck growing your internet show into a big auidence program .In closing i got out of the radio biz because I seen its ran by corpations.

George, get a grip ;D You do realize that 99% of the posts in this thread are pure sarcasm, right?

(Except for my post about the B101/Eagle106 Delilah simulcast. That one is a winner waiting to happen.)

Slightly Juvenile to say the LEAST!!! It's a damn message board where people bring things to the table...some radio people (admittedly or NOT) and others aren't. Why don't you ALL "HOLD UP!" [EDIT]

Some of the evil corpations probably required that people have basic spelling and grammar skills.....

Homerjay,

BINGO!!!!

Phillips and Marcucci would NEVER work for any station I managed. I'd love to know why they thing being half-literaste would get them into any self-respecting station's door. I'd want better talent on my air than those two....

While it's true that Eagle 106 died a premature death that had nothing to do with ratings, the window of opportunity to revivie this station has long since closed. The original Eagle, frankly, won be default. Had CAU not flipped to oldies, The Eagle never would have taken flight, and when Q102 launched Eagle was quickly decimated. The only time WEGX earned its wings was during its final era, and much of that success was attributed to John Lander and crew. With Lander firmly entrenched in Boston, Elliot Segal doing his own thing in DC and Patty Steele relishing her role on WPLJ's morning show, there is no Eagle to bring back.

BTW, I signed it off the air and still have the final cart "never Say Godbye" by Bon Jovi. If you guys are interested in bidding on it, let me know and I'll put it on Ebay. :)
