Only the fool looks at market size assuming it's better where it's bigger. If the comments on both this and the San Francisco board are to be believed, radio is worse in SF than it is in Sac. That's a debate for another discussion, but there is plenty of bad radio in big cities and good radio in smaller ones. To immediately assume the worst because someone stepped down in market size ... well, it's foolish. Unless, of course, you can prove your claim in your earlier post. Unlikely. Besides, the way the population is growing in this market, Sac might well be closer to 20 than 30 before long.

As far as market size, I would not be surprised if MANY Sacremento gigs pay more than those same gigs in San Diego... For the most part, they are in the same category. Market size hardly effects pay THAT MUCH when you're talking markets 11-30.

PD salaries tend to be higher in markets 11-20 than
20-30. As far as SD being sleepy and conservative.
You obviously haven't lived there. It's pricey as
hell, beaches, happening downtown, but it isn't
sleepy.

RHighest Paid Morning Show in Sac
Probably The Paul & Phil Show, $1,000,000 plus.
Compared to SF and LA San Diego is boring and conservative, in my opinion. It IS a NICE city though. I've talked to many people who live there and have spent some time there myself, but I concede that I haven't lived there. I have lived in San Francisco and Sacramento and am currently in LA. San Diego is pricey and it's NICE...but that's it! If rate San Diego on climate and beaches
San Diego is way ahead of Sacramento. But if you look at progressive politics or close proximity to a really sophisticated place like San Francisco or the green areas of Northern California, in my view...Sacramento wins.

San Diego is pricey and it's NICE...but that's it! If rate San Diego on climate and beaches
San Diego is way ahead of Sacramento. But if you look at progressive politics or close proximity to a really sophisticated place like San Francisco or the green areas of Northern California, in my view...Sacramento wins.
