MartyandElaine, got your rotten eggs ready?

Perhaps MartyandElaine can find something productive to do with their time instead. :-*

You know, the funniest thing about the above quotes is that compared to NewsTalkJunkie and WhatDoIKnow, I RARELY post anything on this board. These two seem to have UNLIMITED time to browse and post...I do so only rarely, yet when I do, somehow my posts (admittedly critical of Grumpy and his 0.6 share) are labeled "an unproductive use of time" while their endless, droning on and on posting over and over again on every thread on the board is somehow more worthy of bandwidth. Pretty funny!

And as far as the "shining Hannity's shoes" thing...I can only say that I have the BEST job in radio I could have ever imagined in my almost 20 years in the business. My job is so rewarding and fun, that I almost think I'm dreaming every day. I have worked in the 2 biggest markets..currently in Market #1, and my track record is one of one success after another. I am very good friends and work every single day with the greatest and most successful people in the entire business of radio...and I earn more money than I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams when I started as an INTERN in this business.

If there are people on this board who are bitter, jealous, regretful, or just plain unhappy...than I TRULY feel sorry for them.

With that, have a nice day. :)

Since I worked with you back in those intern days, I have watched and admired your rise in the business. And you are right about some of the posters on this board, it is the same bitter people who cannot understand or respect other peoples success.

You have a dream job in broadcasting. And I can understand their jealousy and I often miss the buisness too when I am not selling mortgages.

Congrats on everything.

Thanks Mikey...you were one of my earliest mentors and to this day a good friend. Thanks for the kind words.

If it's such a dream job why is Stanger so obsessed about his former co workers and so hellbent on trashing them? I seem to remember him taking shots at you Mike as "boredop" or one of his other six monickers.

Ummmm...I have no idea what you're babbling about, but I do know it's spelled "moniker." I have to wonder, "Wareagle", what it is that you do in the business, and pray that it's not copywriting. :)

I'm out..have a great weekend everyone.

Well . . . It always makes my heart warm to see folks that have found their dream job and are surrounded really good folks to work with. This is especially true based on what has gone on in radio in this town recently. Treasure your career decisions and work-mates, not everyone is as lucky as us.

Methinks you read too much in my post; I simply find your regular criticism of Grumpy amusing. Just curious, care to elaborate why you have sour grapes for Tom Hughes?

Tom Hughes, Bob Coxe, Dennis O'Hayer...All the true GST group were PROFESSIONALS.

How far radio, and those that think they know it now, have fallen! Very sad.

Don't forget:

Forrest Sawyer, and his long-form interviews on "Midday."
(Produced by the literate and witty Jill Stanislawsky.)

Jane Simons, who brought the sensibility of the Tiffany Network to evening talk.
Too bad the post-sundown signal was weaker than a campus carrier current station.

Jim Huber, Brad Nessler, Dennis Dumler and Bob O'Neil, whose sports knowledge was unsurpassed and whose graceful words evoked the finest traditions of the legendary 20th century sportswriters.

Mark Smith, whose quirky sense of humor was too often wasted on a limited audience in the newsroom.

Dale Russell, who demonstrated that reporters who live in a city do a far better job than job-jumpers who work in a market. Anybody who was pissed off Manuel Maloof bad enough to get banned from his tavern had to be doing something right.

Mimi Mees, whose reporting from the state capitol and the Wayne Williams trial showed that broadcast journalism can be just a good as print.

Sigh. Those were the days!

And don't forget Mr. Bauer....The great Ted Vigodsky(wink wink) and Steve Holemen who made Tom Hughes show funny..
And your pal Houck!

IN MEMORIAM

Jill Stanislawsky passed away on August 29, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. Jill moved to Los Angeles after obtaining her law degree from Georgia State in 1998. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis a few years ago and has struggled with her health ever since.

I remember those days . . . Some very good radio. Is this the same Ms. Stanislawsky?

nope and he doesn't pay for his eats and sits in out from under the rain.

Yes, that is the same Jill. She was a pro and a very kind woman. No one mentioned, so I will, Gene Blaine, the Ol Lamplighter. Yep, the G spot had some great folks.

Anyone who can call Wach's Baron and the other what's his name geinuine air personalities, shows us all exactly how far down the shoot this business has fallen in such a short time....

As for personalities, Hughes and Holeman were better than the regular guys before the regular guys, and did it without using cheap toilet humor.

How far radio, and those that think they know it now, have fallen! Very sad.

God Bless Radio......Rest in Peace
Amen Brother!! Now thats a sermon filled with truth.. No pun intended. Great stuff..

Gene Blaine, the Ol Lamplighter.

Who wrote every story on every demonstration under protest. [Pardon the pun.]

Apologies for referring to "Bob O'Neil" in my last. I meant, of course, Bob Neal.
