Anyway, rather than start a new thread I'll continue this one because of what I listened to between around 5:55 and 6:20 on WZLX, WODS and WROR.
On WZLX (needless to say, all 5 songs are rock):
Time - Pink Floyd
Who Made Who - AC/DC
?
Tom Sawyer - Rush
All Right Now - Free
On WODS (regular 'ZLX songs denoted with *):
Heartache Tonight - Eagles*
Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay - Otis Redding
My Sweet Lord (He's So Fine) - George Harrison*
Nowhere To Run - Martha and the Vandellas
The Lion Sleeps Tonight - Robert John (escaped from Barry's Lost 45s)
Down On The Corner - Creedence Clearwater Revival*
Fame - Irene Cara
Live And Let Die - Paul McCartney*
On WROR (all but one song are 'ZLX regulars):
You Make Lovin' Fun - Fleetwood Mac
You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet - Bachman-Turner Overdrive
My Life - Billy Joel ('ZLX is only station to play full version of this song; I've done likewise during my time at 'BRS)
Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond (the only non-rock song in this time frame)
Take It To The Limit - Eagles
Amie - Pure Prairie League ('ZLX again only station to play full LP version of this song)
My analysis: WZLX and WROR are BOTH classic rock stations based on the listening. For those who want to argue, Neil Diamond is as much a good fit on WROR the same way certain unspecified types of people are a good fit in equally unspecified Boston neighborhoods. I'm not sure that I'd really call WODS an oldies station anymore, but rather a slightly rock-leaning classic hits station - at least the way classic hits should be heard, and not the way 'ZLX, Eagle (wound up going all rock), 'ROR and Mike (or ridiculously overloaded on rock) wound up going.
BTW, I listened to most of "The Unicorn" by the Irish (really Canadian) Rovers on Magic during this time frame.
