Too Week Notice - Thanks JD!

That's it! After listening to the disaster called the JD Windbag Show on KFWhyEye, Nurse Jeff and I have decided to get the hell out of Dodge for at least the next two weeks! What a bone-headed move to can Crummey and make this Bozo a PM Driver! Advantage goes to TMISU. So we're off to our double wide in Milpitas. Please check the driveway at the Buckeye Media Hut and make sure no one leaves an Arizona Social Republic there to trash up the joint! We'll be back the week after the big Si Se Puede (pueda if you're Nearly Famous) march. What a bunch of morons down on Van Buren!

not a fan either...

but, maybe you can get Rick Renzi to fill-in as host every now and then! Oh wait...

:-\

I caught a few minutes, wow did that suck.

He don't get it, he lost, people don't like him.

The show is worse than Grant Woods.

Oh, that was soooooo painful! I stuck with him until 5:30 before I had to put myself out of my misery. He sounded so desperate. The forced jovial chit chat with the traffic guys, with John Hook... The phone call from the Nearly Famous one was also exquisitely painful. Hayworth has GOT to lose the habit of calling everyone "buddy." I truly hope he improves soon. How long do you think he'll last if this is the way it's going to be from now on? <shudder>

Kid's voice on 923KT'R used to bug me. He's got great pipes compared to JD. Screw what he says. No one will be able to handle that voice. Terrible move. :-\

I haven't had the chance to tune into JD's show yet, but from what I'm reading... should I even dare as a Joe Crummey fan press that #1 button on my AM radio and see? ;D

Did Barry really phone in?

Sad.

Kinda like an episode of "Hello Larry" where Gary Coleman does a cameo from "Diffren't Strokes"

LOL Yes, he really did. Offering kudos for a great show and a welcome. It was so sad.

And his voice does have a raspy quality that might become annoying. Poor JD, the deck is reeally stacked against him.

I miss the Evil One...

I was busy most of the afternoon and only caught the last half-hour or so. I guess I'm a bit more willing to give people a chance than the rest of you. Admittedly, hearing Royal Normal--the Valley's worst meteorologist call in and a couple other "guests" was rather painful. I guess he could have come up with a lame song and sang it for everyone, because that's good radio.

At any rate, while I have my doubts, unlike most of the rest of you that ripped it apart and wouldn't have liked JD regardless of what he did, I am actually willing to give it a couple weeks before I formulate an opinion, that said, the show didn't exactly start out on fire.

Well, I certainly hope he improves once the newness wears off. As for me, I truly like JD and have always admired him, so your theory about "the rest of us" is not entirely accurate. Perhaps the show was shaky because he was under a microscope with all the guests in the studio, as well as TV people. I'm certainly not giving up on him yet.

As for Crummey's dumb intro song, it was mildly annoying, but, like a bee sting, over before you knew it. ;D

I thought his opening segment wasn't too bad for his first show. I'm willing to give him some time to settle in.

Why would it? He isn't holding a job of public trust.

So in another words, it makes no difference if a show host on one of the biggest news/talk stations in one of the largest American cities is a convicted felon?

Interesting…

Will JD do endorsements for stomach stapling? Seems like the perfect sponsor for him and he does look much better since said operation. The Sgt. Slaughter haircut is perfect for radio!

I actually listened to his first show as long as I could endure. I think I lasted though the first hour before my ears started bleeding. Since I'm a masochist, I'll give him another shot and see if it gets any better.

I seem to remember from his biography that Larry King (who at that time was a radio host-no TV) was a convicted felon. He did alright.
