As for Z-88.9, why is it that I get the feeling someone has a personal vandetta against the station?
Like Brett (DanceRev) said, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is valued by many in the Dance and radio community (even if it's not Dance 24/7). You don't have to like it, but that's no reason to focus all your negative energy on this station.

Who has a personal vendetta against Z-88.9? Me? Pfffffft... no. Z-88.9 is merely a convient example that came to mind. It's nothing personal, they're no different, they suck just as bad. Negative energy toward them...? Sure! But they deserve it, especially after years of negative energy from them toward what is real, just like the rest.

That is a personal attack. Why do we deserve it? We are respected by our peers and have helped push the music in South Jersey for over 5 years now. What negative energy do we bring? Our students learn the business and quite a few have gone on to careers in commercial radio. If you want to take a shot a me thats fine. Dont take a shot at my students or station. I think you need to get off your 1 man soap box and join the party. I have had my share of disagreements with people on here, but at the end of the day I give props to everyone on here.

It's this type of commentary that messes things up, especially as things are moving forward for our music. Granted, Brett and I may not agree on things but I do respect what he does with Z88.9, not just because of the music but in terms of teaching students the art of broadcast radio (which can apply to ANY format).

As it is, we only have 3 formats that lean to our core dance music tastes. Love or dislike whoever is running them, they MUST be supported by us since we only have that few. To "hate" here sets us all back and when "radio suits" read stuff like this, they laugh at us thinking...."see this is why we can't do an 'uptempo' format since people just biAtch and complain about every little thing.".

I want a station back in NYC in the worst way. I think it's safe to say that MOST of us want to see things grow for dance music in here. So instead of "attacking" people, let's work on the solution. Positivity and proactivity always conquers negativity.
