2 - MLB Home Plate (especially Charley Steiner)

4 - Deep Tracks
5 - Soul Street

The Groove and Chrome are frustratingly average - both should be much more dynamic. Same is true of the 80's on 8.

I agree with neutralparty about the 80s on 8, and I'll even say the same about the 90s on 9. Both stations lack that pulse that made them fun to listen to back when I first subscribed.

In other words: The most tightly formatted, smallest playlist channels are the most listened to. Isn't that interesting?

Had XM 2.5 years, previously had Sirius since the first day it was available in our state.

I've had XM in all my vehicles since about 2 months after I learned about it.

My Top 5:

1. Extreme Talk 152 - In the mornings for the Monsters, and occasionally for the Phile
2. ESPN 140 - though less now that Dan Patrick is gone
3. XCountry 12
4. Squizz
5. Liquid Metal

None for talk and sports. I think they are a big waste and is the reason for the degrading sound quality. I got XM for commercial free music and music only.
 
Christmas '07 will be 2 years. Definitely worth the price considering how "cookie cutter" commercial radio has become. About the only thing I still listen to on terrestrial radio is "Rush."
My top 5:
1. 60's on 6 (because it sounds like a 60's station, and doesn't burn the same 200 oldies like the terrestrial oldies stations do)
2. MLB channels (love the Braves, but also like hearing hall of fame announcers like Scully, Milo, Jerry Coleman and Uecker)
3. 70's on 7 (for the same reason as 60's on 6)
4. Soul Street (grew up with great R&B, especially when our Top 40 station played the Texaco Metropolitan Opera on Saturday afternoon)
5. XM Exclusives (especially Bill Anderson's "Visits with the Legends" show - what a great interviewer, and also "Artist Confidential")

I'd love to hear some other opinions about Christmas Music. I don't mind the fact that XM has multiple holiday music channels because they're not changing any regular formats to run them. They just add channels for the holidays. However it seems the terrestrial stations have gone too far with this, and started too early. In our market, they started on Nov. 16. I wonder how the people who listen to the format regularly feel. It used to be special when stations would break format for 24-36 hours on Dec 24-25. Now, I think they're burning out Christmas music like they burn out their normal music.
 
I've had XM for a year. I bought a 2nd radio in March. Here are my to 5 from here in Wisconsin. I enjoy the "micro-channels (Special X-mas, Paly Ball, Green, Igor, etc...) more than anything, but here are my top 5 regulars:

1. 7 The '70s
2. 2 XM-X (I like Themetime Radio w/Bob Dylan)
3. 164 Radio Classics (Can't get enough OTR)
4. 10 America (That's REAL country)
5. 113 XM Pops (Some of my years in classical radio may have rubbed off on me)

My Christmas wish is for a 3rd radio.

5. 50's on 5, 90's on 9, The Blend, Big Tracks and Watercolors (5 mentions each)
6. Flight 26, Top Tracks, The Loft, Lucy, Soul Street, Escape, BBC and Radio Classics (4 mentions each)
7. America, 20 on 20, Deep Tracks, Fred, Squizz, BPM, XM Pops and Air America (3 mentions each)
