Transmitter value question

I have been asked to put a value on a Harris Gates 2 and an Omnia AM-3. Can't say as I know how old they are, but both appear clean and work well. Any ideas?

And so is the Omnia, I believe. Heck, for $1500, I'd buy them! That's too low.
Believe the Gates 2 is on 1350.

It appears you have already determined what you think they are worth...are you seeking confirmation only? Thanks

Not really. I don't know what either box cost new. Fairly sure the Omnia is only a few years old. The transmitter's age is uncertain. To me though, $1500 for both pieces just seems unrealistic.

Call up one of the companies that refurbishes and sells used transmitters and see what they will offer for the Gates 2. Just like selling your car to a dealer, that's the least it is worth. In a private sale, the transmitter is going to be worth somewhere between what the refurbishing company will buy it for and what they would resell it for after being refurbished and tuned to the new customer's frequency.

There is a used Omnia-3 (I don't recall if it's AM or FM) on eBay right now with a buy it now price of $2100, but no buyers yet. There are new ones at $2600. $1500 is probably an easy sell for the Omnia-3.

Why would someone buy a ten year old used product when they can get a new DSPX miniAM for the same price? That's crazy!

I would think the Gates 2 Harris would be worth more between the two. Call SCMS and ask them what they'd give you for it. That's certainly a good starting point.
