Fine, then let me throw the stones since you went back to a 50 friggin' year old article regarding payola???!!! Please, let's just stop. I only know Hy Lit by name, never heard him, don't know him. Don't know Sam either. But you can't possibly compare a DJ taking payola 50 years ago when that was pretty much the norm, although I don't condone it, to a radio station ownership group either perpetuating or allowing Arbitron fraud under his watch. Compare the crime: 1. DJ gets extra cash, helps record manufacturer get rich - not sure who got hurt there, but okay it's not a good thing. 2. Radio group causes other stations to have lower ratings and potentially hinders their ad revenue while swindling advertisers into buying on their stations based on fraudulent beefed-up numbers. Hmm...I think #2 is worse. Especially in this day and age.
Now to the stone throwing. I said I would remain neutral on this board unless I felt something was obscenely wrong. What is wrong is the "handles" on this board that allow people to take shots while hiding, or on the other side pretend to offer a fair and balanced opinion of someone that is nothing short of putting them on a pedestal, all the while being a friend or colleague of that person...or in some cases, actually being that person.
It is pretty well known, albeit, undocumented, that Brett and his crew frequent this board and stir up trouble. Either pumping their station and jocks up artificially, or taking shots at other stations and jocks seemingly from some random, unaffiliated person.
Now, for Brett. First, as Sam said a while back, these things take time and the investigation is ongoing with Arbitron. If you know different, then you are actually Brett or one of his cronies, or you work for Arbitron, because you can't know any different.
As I stated a while back, there is evidence that I, and some others, are privy to that incriminates at least one person in the group as knowingly perpetuating this fraud. So, since it's evidence, I have to say it's alleged. I further stated, and maintain, that I will not mention what the evidence is because I don't want to give any other people ideas as to how to fraud Arbitron, nor do I want those folks correcting their mistakes and getting away with it next time (if they in fact allegedly did it - don't wanna get sued).
But the fact remains it happened under his watch. If he didn't know it, but allowed it to happen, he's a piss-poor leader at best; and my evidence indicates he knew about it, at the very least. If he did know about it, then he has no plausible deniability, and therefore is an accomplice. If he directed it to happen, then he is a conspirator. If he was the one who did it, then he's a fraud.
Tell me how he looks good in any scenario?
