Mike, here is an MP3 of a brief aircheck of WNYC which I posted last Oct. 2nd

It starts with the FM-iboc then at 0:18 changes to analog Am and into AM iboc, it then switches back to FM then AM again.

There is no "ringing" on the AM sections. This and the other stations you mentioned are my locals, I hear them everyday and while the analog and digital quality varies, as with all broadcasts, none have significant problems.
