Trying to remember a name

He went to Shamrock where he was Corporate DOS of Radio and a sales trainer for the whole company until his sad and untimely death in late 2004.

It's actually two years to this very week that he passed away. I want to say he died on October 24th of '04.

Anyone remember who did middays on Magic when Chris and Carol did the morning show?

Who did Emerson on Harry West's morning show. Is this guy still areound?

Wasn't that Norm Marriott?

I'm sure the guy is around but not in Radio anymore. The plain fact is you might have to page through a few papers to get the news you want on him.

Remember how awful Magic 93 was when it first went on the air? Coma inducing. All "Air Supply." All the time. Jocks had 6 hour shifts...Norton in the morning, Marriott at noon, Kelly Reed at 6, and Fran Pantuso overnights.

Yes, Emerson the Maintenance Man is alive and well. We are all better off because of it.

Yeah, and that music mix was the brilliance of Rick McDonald at work. How the hell did this guy survive? I'd say that Emerson is not only alive and well, but he's right here in our very midst. Right, Emerson?

Look at all the people who luckily escaped that pit. There's a reason one of the towns is call "Pitts" ton.

I think Magic 93 sounds too much like the other stations on the dail anymore. And the jocks...especially the nighttime guy Gordan...the only word he knows is Awesome.. We have an awesom contest....we play awesome songs...I had an awesome weekend...I am so awesome...I counted once he said it 20 times in ten minutes (he also thinks he is funny...NOT) and ... to make matters worse....Fran and Stan are now on the awesome kick. Hey guys and gals...learn some new words...and really nobody really cares what you did on the weekend.

Anybody remember Ellen Lahey? She worked at Shamrock when 107 was FM107 before Rock 107. Did news on WEJL. Also worked at WCDL in the late 70s or early 80s. Not sure but she may have also done a short stint at either WARM or WSCR too.

Now there's a name I haven't heard in years. You can add Ellen to that growing list of "where are they now?"
And how about FM107? Weren't they an automated Drake-Chenault oldies format?

Magic93 would've turned 21 this past March, if my memory is any good. Fran Pantuso is an original staffer, a distinction few could claim in this business. Susquehanna's music policy has been discussed perhaps too much, but it remains one of the great mysteries within the history of radio. Their obsession with soft-rock confounded nearly everyone who ever worked for them. The songs they refused to play were equally as confounding. This'll take you back; but when Michael Jackson's Rock With You was about the most aired(maybe over-aired) cut in America, WARM just would not play it. And despite jocks asking why for months, there never was an answer.

I think George Graham can beat that with his use of "eclectic." If not frequency of use, at least consistency over the years he's been at WVIA.
