A helipad could always just be a big "x" painted on a flat concrete parking lot.

Isn't it painted as a big "H" in a circle? An "X" marking denotes a closed runway.

Maybe. I always thought the H stood for hospital. I guess standing for helicopter makes just as much sense.
The H might also be the representative shape of the helicopter's 'legs/wheels/little support ladders at the bottom?'
Can't force myself to remember what they are called right this instant....too lazy at 2:27AM. :)

Skids.

To the owner's credit, KPVM-LD, has never filed an STA and gone silent. But I'm not sure there is a business here anymore (if there ever was to begin with). Are there enough productions going on in and around Pahrump to justify a large production facility in town? Since there are also two FM stations in Pahrump in addition to KPVM-LD, are there enough advertisers to sustain all of these stations?

Plus, KPVM-LD is an LPTV station, not a Class A on channel 46. So how will it fair when the FCC starts repacking TV stations?

Station owners I know that are in small communities have other businesses. I know of an LPTV station owner and an AM station who both own restaurants. Guess which type of business makes more money?
