Mind you, there was a WBZ FM in those days, but they were not at 103 on the FM dial, they were at 106.7 FM and now have the call letters of WMJX I believe. Back then, they did rebroadcast WBZ AM between midnight and 6 AM. Then at 6 AM, I remember Carl DeSuze always making an announcement that "WBZ FM will now present separate programming. If you want to hear the latest news, sports and weather, please retune your radio to 1030 on the AM dial for great music and information on WBZ AM." From 6 AM to midnight, I believe WBZ FM broadcast show tunes on their FM frequency of 106.7. The Boston station that really was radio 103 was WEEI FM at 103.3. Their AM sister station was at 590 and had been on the air in Boston since the early twenties, and the call letters actually stood for Edison Electric Illuminating. By the way, I checked out those TV ads, and although I could not enjoy the video because I am totally blind, boy, even the audio alone brought back so many memories of when I was a kid living in Norwood and east Walpole and I always listened to WBZ. I had nearly forgotten about Auntie Clorisa, what a memory flogger that was for me. So thanks so much for offerings those great WBZ TV commercials on the net. Those are some great memories for me pal.
