Tweakin' Sunny 105.9

I heard someone-maybe on a weekend- mention baseball great Moose Skowron dying and a little about him. As an old baseball fan I was impressed !

I heard something today that makes me wonder if Sunny isn't as 'live and local' as we thought. I was driving along and heard Paco's 'Top 1 at 1' air --- at 12:00. I had to do a double take looking at my clock.

Pretty sure they are live and local. He admitted to the mistake and moved on. Is Sunny refreshing the libarary anytime soon?

Wow, a 90's classic. Love it, they still sound awesome. Even people in Jacksonville to Palm Beach are posting on their boards. There's no station like Sunny (well maybe Q105) but they sound so much lamer and have a horrible, disgraceful past.

Go Sunny Go!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

No, not the original Tom Cochrane version from the early 90s (that one would have made a little more sense), the 2006 remake from country group Rascal Flatts

What??? Is that possible. You sure about that? Why would Sunny play a hit from just 5 years ago, albeit a country/pop crossover?

All their imaging/liners clearly say hits of the 60's, 70's and 80's. Never hear any reference to 90's or today.

I am sure. Its on yes.com as well, 4:23pm last Wednesday. Unless there was some special reason it was played

If you're a P1 listener you would know the reason why they played Rascal Flats version of Life is a Highway is because Domino had just interviewed Joie Chitwood, President of Daytona International Speedway, who was promoting the upcoming Coke Zero 400, and Domino asked him what his Top 4 Racing Songs were and Rascal Flats was one of them, so he broke format to play it! It probably tests better than the original Tom Cochrane version as well.

Actually, on AC and Adult Hits stations, where I hear that song most often, it's the Tom Cochrane version 75% of the time.

Especially stations owned by Cox, including some of their AC and Adult Hits/ 80's stations.

I love hearing an on-air personality actually having the power to break format.
Let's keep it interesting!

I love the liners on how the monotony on Magic an WMMO will make you lethargic, thus through a certain amount of time kill you. Your prescription is to listen to 1-2 hours or more of Sunny.

Those are the best promos I've heard in a long time. How long has it been since a radio station attacked another one? Keep it up Sunny 105.9!

Am curious, how large is the playlist (how many active songs in the database that get plays).
Also, how often is this playlist refreshed? How much do they rely on music research and testing?

Inquiring minds want to know.........

Agree with all others, the liners, promos and overall imaging of this station is SPECTACULAR!!!!!

They also played Corona "Rhythm Of The Night" & Ricky Martin "Livin' La Vida Loca" last Saturday, plus a few other 90's Freestyle classics.
Me likey.

As soon as they play some "Real McCoy" i'll drive off the road.....
Sunny rocks, all the others are boooooooooooooring ;D
