KyleSmith1988 - spend some time here learning about LPFM: REC Networks | REC Networks
You answered me with a picture of pirate radio equipment. Is this being used by a licensed LPFM or an LPFM CP? Or is a pirate using this?Something like This. ...
I hope you get some sleep and you don't flood!Maybe he didn't know FCC rules and perhaps he bought something advertised as FCC approved. Not everyone here has been a radio engineer for over 50 years like me. I recognized the original 2 transmitters for Class A FM's because I have used them at FM stations I have owned and operated.
I haven't had much sleep the last few nights. Tornados have done damage to my town and we are now flooding. Historic rainfall is coming over the next several days and it will be bad. I need to tell my listeners what roads are closed.
I understand the FCC rules because I took part in FCC Rulemakings. I understand that most here are not my peers. I do have many successful broadcasters on my Facebook though.
Before Frank the previous owner of this board died, he wrote me and said he wanted an LPFM in his town. I found frequencies in Midland Michigan he could have used. Too bad he's gone. This board is not very friendly anymore.
Goodbye Radio-Info.
There are more of your peers here than you might have thought (40+ years in radio, mostly engineering). Please stick around and share your wisdom when you are all caught up with current calamities.I understand that most here are not my peers. I do have many successful broadcasters on my Facebook though.
Goodbye Radio-Info.
Sure enough. The floods followed the tornados. The main highway into town along with the other roads cut us off from the world. We survived by being on higher ground and a generator. We had more than 2 dozen water rescues. One person drowned when his home was flooded.
Sorry for being a grumpy old man. That's not how I want to be remembered.
