Michael Nesmith in the morning? Now THAT'S a morning show I'd listen to in a hearbeat! ;D
Walter Graff said:Save your breath. This is not an oldies station like it was. Oldies will be eighties and pop. Shannon and others will return but it will not be the 101 like you remember twenty years ago. It has to move forward to find a new audience.
Radio & Records said:The re-launched format will feature songs from the Beatles, Motown and the Beach Boys, and continuing through the late `80s, with songs from artists such as Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Earth Wind & Fire, Rod Stewart, the Bee Gees, Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Frankie Valli, and John Mellencamp, among many others.

adma said:Actually, given his post-Monkees career, Michael Nesmith in the morning sounds more like XM/Sirius stuff par excellence--which I guess is the point behind that post. He's *beyond* CBS-FM.
Of course, to a philistine like Oldies Cat, "beyond" = "beneath"...
Well-stated. There are far too many on this board who ruthlessly advocate canning anyone.junior said:Doesn't anybody on this board have any respect for talent and heritage ? If you work in this business and you advocate not bringing back the jocks that MADE this format then I can only hope to be the GM who lets you go when you become too old.

When I cancelled my XM service, this week, due to crappy coverage, I was offered, near the end of the conversation, up to a year free and a new radio. Of course, if there is no signal, neither of these is useful ao I declined.

Would be good for arrogant posters such as those to get a little taste of what they pull out of theri butts in their heartless posts.
Just to put it in perspective, if such logic were applied to art, this would be a gold standard to be compared against.DavidEduardo said:Just to put it in perspective, during most of the day, the top 4 or 5 stations in NY have more listeners just in their coverage area than XM has in the entire US.
