Obviously didn't see that 1390 AM in Gainesville FL picked up the format a few weeks back.

That signal is so bad it had been off the air for the last 4 years. It's a virtual daytimer (51 watts at night) and, with the terrible conductivity in that area, only covers the immediate Gainesville area; the market is Gainesville / Ocala and the signal is usable by only about 25% of the metro area.

... and when it goes dark in three months people will point and say, "See ! Liberal talk doesn't work!" Pretty predictable on a suicide signal like this. But with all the flamethrowers determined to go down like the Titanic with conservative talk, where else can the progressive lineup go? I think the format could be workable in a university town that has its own LPFM Pacifica wannabe station. But don't hold your breath for these owners to stumble open a winning business plan.
