Of the two Gary U.S. Bonds titles above, "School is Out" was the bigger hit, no contest. It reached #5, while "School is In" had to settle for #28. I told you all that the kids would be the deciding factor on that one! ;D

Elvis Presley, "Burning Love"
Foreigner, "Cold As Ice"

Elvis Presley, "In the Ghetto"
Beatles, "Baby, You're a Rich Man"

And two more within the same song: "I Hate Myself for Loving You," by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do - Neil Sedaka
Stuck On You - Elvis just out of the Army

this probably a good a place as any since the theme is so similar...back in the late 50's thru the mid-60's there was a phenom on record called the anwswer song I have about 100 different songs in my library here are a couple, I'll give you all a chance to come up with the other 98, this is a limited theme, try and keep it to a couple and come back.

Save The Last Dance for me - Drifters
I'll save The Last Dance for you - Damita Jo

He'll have to Go - Jim Reeves
He'll have to stay - Jeanne Black

Hey There Lonely Boy - Ruby and The Romantics
Hey There Lonely Girl - Eddie Holman

The answer thing developed into a much bigger thing than that answer song phenomenon.

Do You Love Me? - The Contours
The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss) - Betty Everett (getting in the middle and answering for him?)

While we're still in Elvis week, has anyone noticed the similarity in titles among different Elvis songs? Consider the following:

"Don't"
"Don't Be Cruel"

"Love Me"
"Love Me Tender"

"Trouble"
"TROUBLE"

"A Big Hunk o' Love"
"Hunka Hunka Burning Love"

Hard Headed Woman - Elvis Presley
Mean Woman Blues - Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison

King Of the Road - Roger Miller
Queen of the House - Jody Miller (Real Name : Myra Joy Brooks)

Tell Laura I Love Her - Ray Peterson
Tell Tommy I Miss Him - Mayln Michaels (I believe the half-sister of Barabar Streisand, but, don't ask me which half)

Get A Job - Shilouettes
Got a Job - Miracles

Wolverton Mountain - Claude King
I'm The Girl from Wolverton Mountain - Jo-Ann Campbell

Last Kiss - J Frank Wilson
I want My baby Back - Jimmy Cross ( And way over there was my baby.....and way over there was my baby) Spoof of Last Kiss and Leader of the Pack.

Leader of the Pack - Shan-gri-Las.
Leader of The Laundraumat - Detergents

Running Scared - Roy Orbison
Jenny Take A Ride - Mitch Rider & The Detroit Wheels
Running On Empty - Jackson Brown
