Scott -- I happened to listen to one tenth of a song on the Pebble that seemed to actually be a real rock song last
night, then a multi-billion overplayed Eagles song came on and I fled, as usual. Are they really reacting?
We have read that The Buzz is trying and yes on Jack. This is a cool reaction and race ---
look --->>> someone is finally reacting to something Crumulus has done.
Yeah! Now they finally have tilted the heads of radio management and listeners in this city. I like the
music on 97.1. Sure, they can get a fresh attitude and personality, but it's refreshing to hear a
non-Nashville approach to radio in Nashville. I still say Bravo.
I hope they keep up the rock...and attack. I know you like Oldies, I just think now is not the time for that in our
market because the one that blinks and flips looses.
We need to celebrate the arrival of decent weather and good rock in Nashville with a little Arbor Mist BUBBLY.
Tibbs,
Since the sale of Clear Channel, the coporate group going private, and selling off weak preforming stations in small markets, I think they don't know what to do with 105.9. Maybe they are just hanging on until things get more organized under the new T.O. with the structure of Clear Channel. I seem to can't put my finger on it, but something is brewing with what they are doing with Nashville Cluster.
I've heard several "uncomfirmed" rumors that TRN was for sale, WLAC was for sale, etc, etc.....and nobody knows what they are going to do. I'm not sure if they Mays Brothers even have not decided what they will do or change in ther Nashville cluster.
It's getting close to 10 years for 105.9 "The Rock", and it does need a face lift in my honest opinion. There has been way too much dead Southern Rock being played, whimpie Eagles music that is approching 30 years old, which are now played on Oldies station in other markets across the country.
All I can say is we get a case of
"Grand Ole Arbor Mist", sit back, watch and listen to these Nashville Radio Games. This market is the most unusual market, compaired to the rest of the country. We here in Middle Tennessee are not hicks, hillbillys, stupid and running around bare footed! Nashville is hip, full of culture, and diversified with different people coming to live here from all over the U.S.
IMHO, New Country Music is merging with the hip-pop AC sounds, and that's a good thing for the future. WSM-AM will keep the oldies, but goodies county around for folks who want to hear it, and I still say WSM-AM will move away from the AM Band and have it's own satellite channel in 10 years, as terristial radio dies off. It sort of does now. As a matter of fact, there will be a way to move all stations to satellite, and yes even the AM daytime stations, and the LPFM's. Technology will take it course!
