Vegas Tragedy: How did the networks cover it?

Did anyone mention that Lester Holt's newscast went over by 30 minutes? I have two stations airing "Jeopardy" where I live so I didn't miss it. Austin Rogers has had two of the top ten one-day winning amounts in the show's history, one of those on Monday. The total for Monday and Tuesday might be the largest ever for two days. Anyway, that episode will surely be repeated next year.

So what about Jeopardy and who cares about that on the day of a mass shooting that's yes even bigger than Orlando Mass shooting of 2016.
Just stop with the troll statements here about how you missed those shows. So what people in the Las Vegas Area only seen local news of the Mass shooting at the strip and pre-empted everything from their networks. What's your point?

Maybe people who missed the episode do care.

Well, I did make the point the episode will certainly air when reruns are shown on Saturday in about a year. I should have stopped with mentioning Lester Holt.

The newscast didn’t “go over,” it was extended and announced earlier in the day. By now, the accompanying pre-emotions should be well known for such events, and in some cases the shows were moved to overnight slots, not skipped entirely. Given a choice, I would have taken Jeopardy as a respite from the disturbingly heavy news of the day, but such is life.

This is correct. However, I believe affiliates had the option of running the added half hour or to return to local programming.

Synonyms.

I'm glad someone agrees that some of us would rather not think about the tragedy.

Don't know if anyone else got this feeling, but in the following days, there was so much info coming out, that some of it seemed unbelievable, or "fake" news.

I heard from somewhere that it was ISIS, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

yeah, that's correct. ISIS claimed responsibility for it and the FBI/CIA/Homeland Security/NSA declared that the shooter had no ties to ISIS or any other international terror group. so pretty much, ISIS (who knows they have been defeated in recent times) claimed responsibly despite not being involved in it.

right now, there's still no motive on why he did what he did. but it's most likely the gunman had a metal illness that made him snap and he pretty much had a "F*** the world, i'll gonna take you all with me as i kill myself" attitude, hence why he did what he did.

CBSN went wall to wall with the Mass shooting in Vegas.
Using coverage from KLAS 8 till 5:00 AM ET or so
KLAS-TV the CBS Affiliate in Las Vegas went Wall to wall on the Newson app.
I tried watching via Roku but only got a blank screen

KVVU 5 (Fox) went wall to wall on Livestream (I assume KTNV 13 did as well ??)

BTW, MSNBC was the first of the NBC networks (If not all of cable TV) to drop regular programming by picking up live reports from (Ironically enough) Sinclair-owned KSNV 3

KTNV the Scripps owned Station/ABC affiliate out of Las Vegas went Wall to Wall with the Mass shooting at the strip on their apps
Along with other local media outlets in Vegas area.
I wasn't getting anything on their Roku channel app (I'd rather fill my streaming sticks up with these apps rather than use my phone :D )

I'm guessing Scripps must be geotagging their Roku channel apps ??
