So where will the rest of the Vikings' home games take place 'til the damage gets fixed?

They expect it to be repaired by next Monday's game vs Da Bears. But if it isn't, I would think they'd play at the new University of Minnesota field.

The game against The Bears is the last home game of the season, so after next Monday there isn't anything to worry about.

Yeah, it's not like they have to worry about hosting a playoff game this season. ;D

ALL of the primary and secondary markets for the Vikings and Giants should be getting the game. This means places like Hartford/New Haven, Duluth, Fargo, Grand Forks and perhaps Binghamton and Syracuse.

Hartford/New Haven most certainly ISN'T getting the game. Our FOX station WTIC-TV is owned by Tribune along with the Hartford Courant Newspaper. And the Courant through its Facebook page posted a link to their website that listed area restaurants that will be showing the game.

Apparently FOX was able to get the HD video of the roof collapsing because stadium staff gave a FOX producer a head's up that the roof was in danger. The producer apparently got someone to set that camera up late Saturday night.

Hartford/New Haven most certainly ISN'T getting the game. Our FOX station WTIC-TV is owned by Tribune along with the Hartford Courant Newspaper. And the Courant through its Facebook page posted a link to their website that listed area restaurants that will be showing the game.

Well anybody in New Haven or Fairfield counties will get the game since it's on WNYW. How is any restaurant in Hartford going to show the game if they don't get WNYW on cable/satellite?

If they have Sunday Ticket and are outside of WNYW's coverage area, they should get the game.

If those counties are considered part of the NYC TV market, then yes, it would be blacked out on Sunday Ticket, like any other Giants game.

Please. If this were Brett Favre's 300th consecutive start, I could see where there could be "pressure" on Fox 61 to carry the game. For Pete's sake, it's a regular season game with little weight.

By the way... Can anyone explain why nine out of the last ten seasons (excluding 2006), the Giants and Vikings have been scheduled to play each other? I wonder what the big "rivalry" is (or supposed to be) between these two teams. Please enlighten me on this, anyone.

If His Royal Brettness' 300th game were on ESPN (it'll be his 299th next week vs the Bears, assuming he plays tonight - which is becoming more unlikely by the hour), then it would be more of a big deal.

Each division plays every other one in its conference every three years, alternating home and home. Beyond that, each team plays two games in the other divisions in their conference that finish in the same place as they do. The Vikings and Giants must have finished in the same place in their respective divisions more often than other teams.

This year all NFC East teams play every team in the NFC North. The Giants also played Carolina (NFC South) and Seattle (NFC West) because all three of those teams finished 3rd in their respective divisions in 2009. If the Giants and Vikings were to both finish 3rd (which won't happen, given the fact that the Giants are 3 games ahead of Washington at this point, with 3 games to play), they would play again next year. Minnesota will play Washington or Dallas next year, depending on who finishes 3rd in the NFC East.

Maybe because, for all practicality, the Vikings / Giants game is still considered a "Sunday afternoon" game, even though it took place Monday night.

I think the window to use original broadcast highlights is two to three days after air, then they have to use NFL Films footage.

Lots of restaurants including TD Homers in Southington have DirecTV. Also in Southington they get WNYW (along with WCBS and WNBC) on DirecTV. They're not on their actual channel numbers. They're up in the 300s. I actually forgot about that. We have DirecTV in the breakroom at the New Shoprite Supermarket of Southington.

Meh, seems to me there was a whole lot of griping about a game that was a complete non-issue in retrospect.

Bort Forve's streak ends, he'll never play in the NFL again and the Vikings are a complete disaster of a franchise.

The Fargo Fox station was unable to get the game because they serve more of North Dakota than Minnesota.

Does anybody remember if two NFL games have ever been scheduled in prime time before?

Back in 1987, the Denver Broncos played the Minnesota Vikings in a regionally televised MNF game because the game was scheduled to be played in Minnesota BUT only 24 HOURS after Game 7 of the World Series (Which the Twins won at home the night before)

The Broncos-Vikings game was originally scheduled for Sunday Afternoon on NBC but was switched to ABC due to the forced change.

Gary Bender was the PBP man (I forget who the color commentator was though).

It also happened twice before that -- in 1987 (a Vikings / Broncos game moved from Sunday to Monday, due to Game 7 of the World Series involving the Twins), and 1997 (Dolphins / Bears, also involving World Series Game 7, this time with the Marlins at home).

There was also a 2003 (??) Steelers/Dolphins game rescheduled from Sunday Afternoon to Sunday Night due to a Hurricane in the Miami area. CBS televised the game regionally to the Miami & Pittsburgh areas & (I believe it was from what I hear) the Johnson/Tasker team in the booth.

Looked like a mess from what I was able to see from the ESPN updates (ESPN had the SNF rights then). This was the prelude to (What turned out to be) Mud Bowl II involving the same two teams, but this time in Pittsburgh (And on Monday Night).
