W I L D AM 1090 Crappy Ownership

Agreed. It's not your receiver. I've found the quality to be just OK (they must use some type of dynamic bandwidth allocation as some channels can get better or worse over the course of a day). I hear a LOT of hiss in both my receivers in both home and car kits. Strangely the online stream doesn't have anywhere near the noise of the satellite feed.

Personally I find XM's sound quality somewhat lacking. I don't know if it is my receiver, or the fact they cut down on the bit rates on some of the stations for the sake of bandwidth. Try to listen to the traffic/weather channels... I expect to hear "10-4 good buddy" at the end.

I love the content on XM don't get me wrong, but the quality isn't always there IMHO

That's cool ZRXOA, I'm not knocking anyone who lists to AM for music. I just didn't know if people still did it. I couldn't listen for any length of time. I'm to used to the XM quality sound.

You should hear WJIB on a wideband C-Quam AM stereo receiver. It sounds surprisingly good.

The way they get all those channels is to compress the daylight out of those digital algorithms. It will get worse when they try and add more video.

Now THAT I can agree with!

No, I do not think only radio "insiders" should be here.
I just have no use for the same stupid posts, every day,
from Moe, Larry and Curley. I don't have the time
for foolish ranting - I have stations to run...

Now Nasdaq, Dont like this Crappy Ownership ( Radio One is ALL DONE ).

Sorry, but "all done" is premature. What you refer to in your own unique way is they and Regent face delisting from NASDAQ as their stock has sunk below $1 for a certain period of time. Thats all. Their business operations are unchanged. The stock will continue to trade but on another exchange. Anyone with knowledge of the stock market know how that works?
