Radio One INC has a net Loss of 11.7 Million in the second quarter, because of declining sales according to Bizjournals.com . This what happen when you run a Crappy Business ( Ruin Good stations in Boston, LA and former Blue chip stations, and Kick Good radio folks out the door )

well put "Kick good folks out the door" That's what I'm saying in my "What About Boston" post. Get one of those two formats and hire some of the former employees that used to work for W I L D 1090. Marc Coleman (good peope), Jammin Joe Johnson (good people), and T Clark (Good people) just to name a few that used to work there.

It's all the Nash's fault!

For W I L D, Maybe( Maybe Nash should had sold it to a better Company aka Inner City, Or dont sell it) , But Nash has nothing to do with How Radio One does business with all those other stations .

this really has nothing to do with the content but Why do You Put a Capital Letter at the start of some words. Also, "this what happen when you run a crappy business."... "This IS what happens when you run a crappy business"

grammar counts ;D

Why don't you buy it then? You've said in the past how you "sell house get rich make money."

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Point of information: ALL radio companies are doing poorly. There's this little thing called a recession...maybe you've heard of it?

Neither Nash nor Radio One had any problems cashing their checks, did they?

Please refrain from starting these posts if you have nothing further to add to
a discussion.... Leave the radio business to the professionals...

I haven't listened to WILD in quite awhile, but I wonder why all the criticism when WILD's ratings have been steadily on the RISE in the past 16 months or so.....

The fact that WILD is the only game in town for a legitimate African-American oriented station of any sort is why they're getting some ratings with syndicated and canned talk shows, infomercials, and some classic R&B late days and weekends in poor audio fidelity. Still, it's not even a shadow of its former self.

They had better ratings, about double what they have now, when they were live and local and playing classic soul in AM stereo (I know very few people had AM stereos, but their airchain was better even in AM mono back then), but I guess their profit margin still wasn't good enough for Radio One to do anything but run it as cheaply as possible after they sold the FM.

Do you think the people and the owner of WILD 1090 are racists?

Are you asking me? I don't know them, so I don't know whether they are or not. However, the content of programming on a radio station or the audience they target does not necessarily reflect what the people who own, manage, or work for it are like as people. Sometimes station personnel are very different from any preconceived conclusions that people may draw by listening to the programming.

I'm shocked! You've criticized Rapking's grammar and your post hasn't vanished.

Anyone else think that RAPKING and LAURO are the same person? Since I don't work in radio I guess this is my last post becuase the WLYN GM thinks only radio insiders should be on here.

My question is, who is still listening to AM radio in 2008 for music?

That's cool ZRXOA, I'm not knocking anyone who lists to AM for music. I just didn't know if people still did it. I couldn't listen for any length of time. I'm to used to the XM quality sound.

No, I do not think only radio "insiders" should be here.
I just have no use for the same stupid posts, every day,
from Moe, Larry and Curley. I don't have the time
for foolish ranting - I have stations to run...

Personally I find XM's sound quality somewhat lacking. I don't know if it is my receiver, or the fact they cut down on the bit rates on some of the stations for the sake of bandwidth. Try to listen to the traffic/weather channels... I expect to hear "10-4 good buddy" at the end.

I love the content on XM don't get me wrong, but the quality isn't always there IMHO

The traffic and weather have had low bandwith since they came out three or four years ago, that doens't bother me. Everything else sounds great.

If you have no use for people posting about radio topics on a radio message board, then go somewhere else. Keep running your stations into the ground.

There are postings from experienced and informed individuals
who actually have something valid to say, and bring something
of value to a discussion - then there are inane rantings
from wannabe's and never were's who bring nothing
to the table - big difference...

Oh - by the way - our stations are doing just fine.
Thanks so much for asking! ;D
