Radioponte, how much do you make working there at WSAR?

Honestly... I am doing very well there. Things have changed. I would not be thinking about doing it full time, if it was that bad. Trust me!- I do well. I am getting paid much more than you think.

That's cool. When "Knight Quality broadcasting" owned the place those cheap bastards paid me $4.25 an hour as a full timer. I think they upped it to a whole $5 an hour when they promoted me to Production Director. After promises of raises that never came I knew that I had to get out. The final straw was when I saw Burger King down the street hiring for $5.50 an hour. That's when I knew that it was time to leave. WNAC hired me away to work in Master Control. I missed my radio show, but at least the pay was better in TV.

Some of 1480's on-air ads make reference to its efforts to becoming the talk, news, and information leader from Fall River to New Bedford to Attleboro to Taunton......

All well and good...and I'll assume the station is heard fairly well in Fall River and New Bedford......but what about the other two areas? I would have my doubts.

If the Karams were really serious about building WSAR into a substantial player (something I'm also doubtful about)......then here's an idea they ought to consider:

God forbid the Karams should have to spend any money, but to insure good signal coverage throughout Bristol County Massachusetts, they ought to consider a purchase of 1320 WARL for use as a translator.

Since this might actually cost some money, it'll never happen. ;)

WSAR has decent coverage, but the transmitter is just in a weird spot. You can get a signal in Attleboro, Tanton, Brockton and even Providence. But it's one of those static filled signals which just gets annoying to listen to for more than 5 minutes at a time. You really need to fine tune your radio by twisting and turning the unit to get a decent signal outside of the immediate Fall River/ Somerset area.

I was driving to see David Letterman one day and I picked up WSAR at Exit 93 'first exit into Connecticut" over the Rhode Island border. But that was the absolute limit. The static filled signal just died after that.
