W267DA in Centreville which rebroadcasts WBIB-AM has been issued a new construction permit. Not sure if this was applied before the sale of WBIB/W267DA or done so by the pending owners. I'm still scratching my head on this one. The new facilities call for the W267DA transmitter to be moved NE near West Blocton. As a result, neither Centreville or Brent will be in the 60 dBu contour if this is built out (not that it would be required to do so with the translator being licensed to Centreville)...just the listeners in Centreville/Brent would no longer being able to receive the translator as they do now. W267DA currently operates non-directionally, but the permit has the translator operating directionally, presumably to protect WQEM (101.5) in Columbiana which operates on the adjacent frequency.
So any ideas what the game plan is behind the move? I can't see how they could move the transmittter even farther east (if that's what they're planning on doing) bc WQEM puts a 60 dBu signal all the way to Montevallo.
