This translator on channel 61 is part of the CW Network's string of low power TV stations throughout the state. Is it this translater, or the entire network that was been showing nothing but a black screen with the words, 'alarm mode' , on it. This appears to have been like this for the better part of 4 weeks now. Are they missed, or does no one simply care on this one ??

Actually, the station's a satellite of Burlington's WGMU, which is actually a "My Network TV" affiliate. (CW is seen locally on WFFF, following Fox's programs.)

WGMU is owned by Equity Broadcasting, which practically programs everything via satellite from Little Rock, Arkansas. W61CE very likely gets its feed from the bird, just like WGMU in Burlington.

Because of its reliance on satellites, practically no one is watching the transmitters, especially the low-powered translators. Equity does have a toll-free hotline for transmitter problems: 1-866-823-8828.

Being that it's My Network TV we are talking about, I doubt it would matter either way. In fact, I bet that "Alarm" message is getting better ratings! ;D

Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm happy to report that this station is still in 'alarm mode'. I wonder if any local sponsors have caught wind of this, or if this is affected on the local Comcast cable ?

Where sponsors are concerned, chances are most of them are from the Burlington area. As for WGMU on Comcast, they probably take the easy way out by picking it up off the bird, off the same feed used to transmit the programming to the stations.

I just called their Toll Free#, got their Engineers # and left a message for him.................. let's se eif this gets cleared up.

Personally, at homes without cable and withing range of an Equity station or translator, I wonder if the toll-free hotline is just as indispensible as the number to call for power outages, considering the fragility of mastering via satellite.

Well, at least when I called Equity's Toll Free #, I got a live body named "Ken".

I guess, if Equity regularly flashes this number on the screen then if a regular viewer writes it down and notices an outage, then calls them.. it can be useful.

Ladies and gentlemen, W61CE is still in alarm mode. This is almost two months and counting. I take it Comcast does not take this signal feed.. I'm a DirectV dude, so I would not know. If they did, I'm sure their local advertisers would be upset, but then again if a tree fell in the woods, and nobody was around to hear it ? Did it fall ?
Next update in two weeks, for those of you keeping track of this major broadcast event.

My fellow broadcasting fans, the verdict is out, W61CE in Rutland, Vermont is still very much in "alarm mode". Next update in two weeks, thank you and good day !

I guess a call to their Control Center and Engineer did no good, they obviously don't care....

BREAKING NEWS AS IT HAPPENS..... TODAY FEBRUARY 23 2007......

W 61 CE..

PART OF THE STATE OF VERMONT WIDE MT TV NETWORK IS STILL

IN ALARM MODE !!!!!!

Maybe someone should try calling them...

I'll do it after I'm done picking my nsoe and scratching my ass lol

It's the longest running TV show in Northern New England history, on the air without any breaks since late November 2006.. it is "Alarm Mode" and it's on exclusively on W61CE Rutland. I wonder if any of their advertiser(s) have caught wind of this long winded technical glitch...

Who says they have ANY sponsors or advertisers??? (At least not anymore!!)

I have yet to see one, at least since the "Alarm Mode" show began.. No legal ID's either.. I don't have cable, so I cannot see (nor have I bothered or cared to see) what feed Comcast is getting. It's a shame that the owners of the station couldn't cough up a few bucks to have a capable VPR, VPT, or radio engineer take care of business at the site on Grandpa's Knob.. Could be worth at least a C-Note to flip a few switches, and press a few buttons..

I just spoke to a Master Control Supervisor in Little Rock, AR who took down all the information which I gleamed from this message board(And rightfully, I told him exactly where I got it)... and he siad he will be forwarding it on to several people, including their Director of Operations and their engineers.

Is reception of channel 61 of Hartford possible that far north with a huge roof antenna? Probably not, but worth a shot. (Assuming this translator finally gets knocked off the air?). I've heard of people being able to pick up channel 3 from Hartford in Brattleboro with some luck in the past..
