WABB Goes with a BANG!

Sweet Home Alabama is on now.....they just played Bob Dylan. Apparently that was a rumor that was the last song?

little airchecks and jingles right now, getting close! (listening to the 104.1 stream too to see what happens there!)

Something must be going on with the transmission or we are having good tropo with this fog. I had my 8 foot antenna pointed almost directly at WABB and was picking up 2 radio stations on 97.5. I'm what, 35-40 miles east of the tower? Without the rooftop antenna I only hear WABB but with more static than any other I-10 Baldwin county stations.

With a switch in feed/ownership occurring, it's possible they had to go to backup for something at the Wilcox Road site.

I had some noise in the signal earlier tonight here in Foley but chalked it up to man-made computer interference locally. Now I'm wondering if it could have been some tropo on the weak signal.

Did you happen to get what type of music the other station was playing? The only other 97.5 within reasonable distance is WVRV in Pine Level with a (ahem) CCM format.

I'm recording the last six hours, but after checking in on the audio again I REALLY hope it turns out, because it sounds like an awesome way to end a broadcasting era.

Ya know you just posted that the time was Central and as I am reading it, I am laughing because I was totally in the mindset that it was Eastern DOH!

Ah, it's nothing the national media wouldn't botch. They once called Florida during a presidential election, forgetting the entire panhandle still had an hour of voting to go!

This is some of the best radio I think I've ever heard.

That sweeper with Bernie's grandchild.... wow. Chills.

"Don't Stop Believing" is one of the most obnoxious, trite karaoke songs ever...but it's giving me the chills. I agree, this is simply brilliant broadcasting. Bernie Dittman's grandchild thanking the Gulf Coast was perfect.

THIS is what radio is all about. CC and Cumulus, take notes.
