Sorry to burst your NYC bubble, but NYC has some of the worst radio I've ever heard. The playlists are tighter than Eliot Spitzer, the jocks are pretty bland and the spotloads are INSANE!!!!!(do your own Crazy Eddie impression). The problem with Albany is what you said though, lacking imagination. There's way too many rock stations as we all know. The feeling I get from listening to Albany stations is that they mostly just "mail it in". The CC stations for instance, PYX just brought back their morning retred Ellen Z who has done nothing for the show except maybe do the impossible and lower the intelligence level even further. Lisa was much better. She actually said things that weren't nonsense. Why is Vito still on the air? The Channel just seems to be lost in the shuffle. You have to figure, in light of WHRL be mentioned in the recent payola news, the station will be undergoing some major changes if not a total format flip. It's not like CC counts on the 2 share they bring in each book. ABC has issues after canning Sugarbear at JAMZ. FLY's #'s are steadily declining. Regent's big question? What to do when Howard leaves? It should all make for a very interesting Fall book don't ya think?
