"Walk" Debuts at Noon Tomorrow...We Think

Atlanta's Greatest Hits would do well on 97.9, the best translator. I don't know why Cumulus doesn't try it? AGH had a 3.0 on 106.7 before they flipped to All News. Let's put some variety back on Atlanta Radio!

What I can't believe is that Q100 Top 20 is doing that well. How well is 97.9 actually doing? And we still have holes for alt/AAA and a true classic or variety hits station.

Agreed. I believe 97.9 will change formats at some point.

Jabba17 hit it. This station is only on the air to try to get a few meters from Fish to knock them down in the Arb ranker. Fish is consistently over most Cumulus properties in the money demos every book. The mix with country is interesting since they may cannibalize a little from Kicks but they are really trying to prop up Q100 with whatever they can throw at the wall. A little from Fish and a little from Bull could get Q closer to B. That's the strategy here for what it's worth.

Are advertisers that naive? Listeners switching from Fish/Bull to The Walk wouldn't have any affect on the actual number of people listening to Q100 or B98.5 - it might affect the ranking of the stations, but you'd have to be an idiot not to see through that smokescreen, no?

Less about naivete than about lack of time to do indepth research. So many advertisers simply go with agencies that buy top 5 women 25-54 etc. Unfortunately, in that case, rankers matter.

This is the closest to true Christian country that I know of:

In general, My family in Greenville loved the Walk station when it was there, and my wife and I liked it pretty well too. My wife will be traveling through Atlanta soon and will probably listen to 98.9. She listens to K-Love here but often says she wishes there was an alternative. She does not like the, as she calls it, "harder edged Christian contemporary."

We both like country, but when we have grandkids in the car, usually listen to our own CDs, etc.
The rest of the world may like 4 letter words, but we don't, and not with little ears. So we usually listen to K-Love or personal music on long trips.
I like this idea, and I hope Cumulus is able to make it work.
I hear ya, Alan!
