WARM cume

Legend has it that it was a 62 in 62 or a 62 12plus in 1962???

The second part of the legend is that this is the highest rating ever in any Top 100 Arb market.

I'm sure it was huge then.
But while we're talking about it, how about some of those gold chip advertisers on WARM this holiday season? Sneaker King, Bartiowsky's, not bad for a station with the bird. Merry Christmas to all on the board and to all the WARMnatics.

As best I remember, at one point in the 60's, WARM had the highest ratings, per capita, of any station in the country in the 60's. Though I was gone from the area in the 70's, my understanding was that Disco damned near killed the place but going back to it's roots brought it back-in our last full book before the switch to talk, we were still pulling a high 8 12+, but were skewing a bit high in the 25-54, as the audience was aging. The bottom fell out when they had the brillient idea that Jim Mcnulty and Frank Andrews were the saviors as they would bring the age of our listeners down (???????). Corbett was there too until he was bounced for attacking the rich in Clark Summit. Harry still had decent morning ratings as nothing changed much during mornings, but from then on was total disaster.

I remember the Hooper ratings and in one time period we had an 82. That ment that of 100 radios that were on...82 of them were listening to WARM.

The legendary big share numbers were based on AQH not cume. The 50 and 60 share legends were in Pulse and Hooper. I have them somewhere, saved from the dreaded move out of Avoca. There were moments when WARM was # 1 in AQH but other legendary stations like KMOX and WOWO also had similiar shares. However... they did it on 50kw clears.
As to the cume numbers, the market's 12+ population is 565,000. So one million cuming would be a statistical impossibility.Bragging rights in this arena are based on 12+ AQH share, of which WARM 590 enjoyed legendary status for almost 20 years( '58 to late 70s).
