This Friday, a smoking ban goes into effect in San Antonio. So what better way to capitalize on what should be a good thing, than to attempt a world record of what is considered a bad thing.
On Thursday, Smitty's Pub will be attempting to set a new record for "most people smoking in a bar the day before a ban goes into effect". The radio angle is that it's endorsed by KZEP; in fact, you can join KZEP's own "Crash" to help set the record. Their website urges listeners to "come light it up with Crash for the last time... indoors."

I suppose there shouldn't be a problem since it's technically legal. But is nobody aware of the dangers of secondhand smoke? And multiplied by whatever the maximum occupancy of Smitty's is, at that?
