They must know that any Radio person who is listening to them must be saying that it doesn't sound right.
I don't think today's radio people care about what yesterday's radio people say....

Hey they didn't even care when we were todays radio people! Still there was always a certain amount of professionalism involved in back timing into network news. If you couldn't do it, you didn't belong in the business. There were at least some standards then!

I think cutting off a song in the middle to bring on the news is so bad that the average listener notices, and they don't like it!

Sadly there seems to be more radio stations than commercial broadcasting can support. I wonder if a listener supported model would work?

I seriously wonder how long w-avo will last on the air. For me, I hardly catch them playing music anymore.

There are just too many issues with this station:

1 - Their signal is extremely weak east of charlotte. Too much static..
2 - No reception at night
3 - Mornings is mostly right wing talk

What also amazes me is when I was wanting to hear some standards yesterday afternoon, it turned out to be sports.. Come on... Why is this format being trashed in this town?

There's plenty of classic rock to go around, now that W-LKO is included in the mix.

I have problems with WAVO on the West Side of Charlotte. To alleviate this, I purchased a ''Terk Advantage'' Indoor AM Antenna. This is a Tunable Antenna. You Tune this Antenna to the Frequency you're trying to pick up. Then, you turn this Antenna until the static gets nulled out. Without this Antenna, I get a S1 on WAVO. After Switching to this Antenna, I get a S4.5 out of 5. And, I might add: that's sitting less than 6 feet from a High Performance Computer. Pretty Impressive for those who can't make their own Longwire Antenna. Steve.

AM Radio Stations are long known for their love of Sports, particularly when it's Local. They feel obligated to ''give back'' to the Community they Serve. This includes College Sports and right down even to High School Sports. Perhaps that is what happened when you tuned in. Steve.

The trouble is WRHI is the station that serves Rock Hill. Otherwise they might be doing much better.

I forgot to go in search of this topic when it happened.

One day I was on this station and music was playing as SRN News was airing. weird, but I liked not having to do without the music. Trouble is, everything was out of place as "A Moment of Musical History" aired five minutes early. I just wonder if they ended up without music at the end of the hour.

The music is great but the people running things need to pay attention. We can't have the one good radio station in Charlotte doing anything to make themselves look bad.
