I miss the old PAMS jingles too, as well as the 60's records. Wish they would throw the old unused jingles on the HD-2 and stream it - always loved listening to the HD-2 rolling thru CT or driving on certain parts of Long Island.

The HD-2 playlist isn't nearly as deep as DRC-FM's was before most of the '60s and all of the '50s titles were eliminated from the main signal. They've started adding some of the dropped '60s songs to the HD-2 but it's all monster hits: "When a Man Loves a Woman," "My Girl," "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling," "Honky Tonk Women," etc. I'd love to hear the whole A to Z library thrown onto that hard drive, but it looks like they're aiming for the comfortable and familiar on the HD-2. I suppose that makes sense if there's still the dream of interesting advertisers in HD Radio, but still, kind of disappointing.
 
May numbers are in and DRC has slid down to second place behind WRCH.

It will be interesting to see where the numbers go with the new Biggest Hits and 90's music additions. (Although I listened today and dont remember hearing any 90's tunes...)

I just checked DRC's site tonight (Friday) and between 5:30pm and 11:00pm they only played one 60's track, and tons of 90's tracks. Might depend on the DJ/daypart?
 
I'm looking at the Mediabase monitoring, and while there are 90's tunes added, only 4 out of the top 50 most played tracks are 90's tunes. Most are 70's, with an equal amount of 60's and 80's. The top played 90's track is "I don't wanna miss a thing" which still just has 6 spins per week, less than one a day. The other in the top 50 is Losing My Religion, which is a solid song. The next most played, however, is "The Sign." Solid AC track, terrible song. The other 2 songs rounding out the top 100 on DRC this week? Ironic (solid) and Mambo #5 (beyond questionable.)
 
WDRC is just ahead of its time for "oldies". 5 years from now, the oldies stations will be playing 90s, making us twenty-somethings feel old.

I wish their HD2 would stream, and also go deep with its music library. Only radio geeks and a few people seeking out 50s/60s oldies have HD radios.

WRCH also plays this song a lot. My mom always listens to WRCH and every time I hear this song I'm ready to chuck the radio into the middle of Route 10.

Strange that this song would do well in listener research, indeed. I figured it would be a "cool at the time, not now" song like "Macarena," which is untouchable for radio right now. But apparently this piece of vintage stupidity still has its fans.

I admit I am a radio geek, and I love the 50's and 60's . BUT I DO NOT OWN AN HD RADIO .
I have found a number of oldies outlet on line .
I use BOOMER RADIO and REWOUND RADIO just to mention a few. Also I have a great collections of CD's , some bought ,some I made myself .
I have NOT listen to DRC FM in a long while . Those days, for me , are gone.
